They are famous for their fruit and nuts tortes (dense fruit cakes) and almond cookies Ricciarelli. Tiramisu was a bit too sweet for my liking. Their croissants with pistachio cream or Nutella fillings were great. The panini sandwiches were a quick and tasty lunch. A convenient location to stop by when walking through the old city center of Siena. A typical tourist trap. Too high prices, average quality and very unfriendly service. Hundred meters away you get better cappuccino for half price. Not really representative for “hospitalita italiana” I can’t comment on the waiting staff or the price or the ambience because I was so absorbed relishing the delectable selection of pastries and other goodies. Can’t say which one stood out. But there is one thing to declare - the hot chocolate is what will make you forget the world for a brief moment as you take in its pleasures. And they don’t sell the chocolate powder nor its recipe. So have it and sink into the depths of a chocolate dream. There was a wide range of very tasty and fresh products.
