Beautiful harbour, I had a nice stroll there in peace after putting up with the crowds in Diocletian's palace. Although you will find boats and fisherman even today it is now place full of life with so many locals and tourists walking by or hanging around. Lush green park with plenty of benches line up to the stone walkway where tour boates are ready to take you for sight seeing. Very walkable and pleasant. Lots to see and enjoy while taking in the fresh air by the waterside. Beach is beautiful with shade trees covering half the beach. If you get too much sun you can retreat a few feet from the water but not get burned. Local shops have all the food and beach supplies you will need. Very nice area of Split next to Riva The harbour is an amazing place to take photos. You could stay here for hours and just admire the view. An easy going promenade where people of Split relax, drink beer (bought in a nearby liquorshop), enjoy in the sun, chatting and people-watching. The views of the old city centre and the harbour are priceless. Historical place. Great walk abouts, shops and restaurants. Safe at all times, even late nights.
