Lots of remains from earliest Hellenistic period. Very good setup like timeline. Also is set at the middle of remains of old town. Must when in Limenas. Great with so much to see, from prehistoric era of the island to the Neolithic era all the way to the Greece and even some after classical period. So much in here. You'll definitely be in awe with so many statues and from everyday things that Greeks used to rooms dedicated just to the sanctuaries and temples that are all around the island. What disappointed me greatly was the neglected first part of the tour (some display cases are illegible, faded). Furthermore, the website lists the admission price as €4, which I would consider adequate for what is on offer. Upon arrival, you find that the price has been covered up and is now €10. I recently visited the in Heraklion, Crete, and this place is like its poor relative. It's worth a visit, but it could use a little care and a little less greed. Does not seem much from the outside, but once you get inside we were surprised how big and well kept the actually is. You can watch documentaries about Thassos island starting from prehistory to more recent history. Friendly staff and the was quite empty, so it had quite an intimate feel to it, which made easy to have an imersive experience into the islands history. One of the best archeological Museums I have visited. It's a must and you have to go. Entrance ticket adult 10 euros. Ticket cost 4€ on their site and 10€ on the door. The shop doesn’t have credit card terminal. The is very nice, so much to see, and it is unexpectedly big. The lady working on the first floor was very nice to explain to us where to start our visit. You will need half an hour to one hour to explore it all. Then you can go next door, to the site where excavations are and see the ruins. It was boring there, I regret the time I spent on the trip to this place, because of this we didn't have time to go to the beach, which upsets me, there is nothing to see there, the statues are all headless or just heads, a maximum of 20 minutes of viewing no more. It is a must place to visit, everyone should be aware of greek culture. Mistakes from that are forgotten, are more likely repeated... I can say so many things about this museum, but it will be more interesting if you will yourself. It was fantastic and service also was great and the ticket is not expensive. Access for baby stroller can be challenging due to the number of steps in-between the floors, but there's fortunately a connecting lift for the main ones (ground and first floor). Very nice museum. It mostly contains statues and ornaments from Greek and Roman period. The itself is situated next to the Agora so I strongly suggest to combine to Agora first and than to the museum. The regular price for the ticket on spot is 10 EUR but online purchase may be the better deal. There is a small shop at the exit. Extremely well done , very clean , english and greek text explanations, 3 floors of exhibits It is a small ok but not as I imagined, and not polite workers, they take money for my 5 years old boy for entrance. These are world legacy and it is so important that new born babys without any nation, any colour or race whatever can reach and see these world heritage for free.
