Wasn't as big as looks on Google maps but a lovely walk. Kids paddling, ducks, dog walkers really nice (mostly clean) place. Car gated shut but roadside parking. Picnic benches at the top through the slightly open gates. An idiot family had a fire going. Some steep areas, steps and a fab view from the top! In need of some TLC Many of the paths are impassible. Shame as it's a lovely quiet spot for a Me and my dog love a quiet around here. It's nice and peaceful HORTON BANK TOP COUNTRY is a relaxing place.Need to well maintain.If Bradford council maintain it nicely this place will be one of the best spot in Bradford.You can see sunset from here.If summer you can spend your free with family here.Nice long place, natural view.Big car park, large and lots of duck.I love the rock as well.I been there many and took some photographs. The main gate is locked for car for long time, I do not know why.Local council should work out with this place.It is a good place for fitness activities. Like this Park. It's all natural. Th view of the city is amazing. It's during the daytime and is great for dogs. I wouldn't advise visiting this place at night, though. There is a small car at the entrance. Lovely place to around with the kids and dog. Lots of ducks, Canadian geese and swans who never say no to food. Spectacular views from the top. Can be boggy so wear appropriate footwear. There is a small lake that sits in a wider basin with plenty of etc. It was originally a quarry that later became a supply reservoir for the local area until the became contaminated and the dam was found to be unsafe. The level is now much lower but you can still see the old level marks carved into the stone blocks going up the bank near the bridge. Its free to enter (unlike some country parks). The car is currently closed but there is parking along Great Horton Road - although my satnav tried to take me round the back, off Pasture Lane. It had been raining before I visited so most of the paths were quite muddy and I didnt have (or appropriate footwear) to see most of it. There are a few negative comments about antisocial behaviour on other posts, it seemed ok when I was there, things might not be the same in warmer weather. This is a little gem for a peaceful walk. Family friendly and great for dog walkers. Wouldn't advise taking a pram as it is steep and very bumpy going down to the from the car park. Picnic spots and seating around the lake with tranquil views. Virtually just a field, there’s no kind of country with on the entrance and exit Clean and tidy looks looked after no rubbish about when I was there. Good place to the dog good views lots of geese and swans. Good place to sit for a few hours This is a wonderful place for day visit and have a peaceful with family. It has 2 lakes, one is small. Lots of and fish roaming around in the lake. It has woodland and track. There are two small hills to climb up and see the whole city from there. It is very quiet, gives tranquillity when walking. Dog friendly. Seen many sign of BBQ though official notice hanging not to do so. Altogether had a wonderful afternoon and stayed till sunset. Enjoyed thoroughly. Definitely recommend. Parking available in the street next to the GP. In parking closed, don't know why. No toilet facilities. Had a fab round with my children this morning was very quiet only see two others by with a dog looked tidy ,seen some and swans and had a in the wooded area Youth taken over the place, fly tipping, lighting fire , harassing people by ... although the place is beautiful, I wouldn't recommend going there , I unfortunately had to take the children and leave to another as we felt unsafe, same as other families who also left the place . Such a lovely place, a hidden gem for and dog friendly, and a decent size of pond wild flowers look amazing. A humble request please do not throw bear cans and leave mess after BBQ. Used to be really nice here. It's still OK. Quiet and a bit overgrown.
