We stopped by Eselsmühle today for the first time on our way home, and it was an absolutely lovely experience. This beautiful spot is just a short drive from our house, yet it feels like a peaceful escape into the countryside. We have small children, and they had a fantastic time roaming around and seeing the animals. The presence of free-roaming livestock added a special charm that kept the kids entertained while we relaxed. It’s the perfect place to let children explore safely and enjoy nature. We also had lunch there, and the food was very pleasant—fresh, simple, and full of local flavor. Combined with the sunshine and calm surroundings, it made for a perfect afternoon outing. I'm a donkey lover so I was very excited to see so many here! But there is also food, beverage, a shop for bread and a lot of places to sit. It's a very cute place. Beautiful spot to have breakfast, or coffee, or just a break during hiking. There is a bakery on site, they also sell coffee, fruits, local organic vegetables and arts and crafts. Plenty of animals walking around, such as chicken, donkeys, horses... Just a beautiful little escape. Highly recommended. 90% of my excitement was about the walk to this place. When I got there, I discover nothing special. A nice place in picturesque location. Hard to believe so many people drive there in their cars🤭, forests around the area seem more fascinating to me - but it is individual. Kids might be excited about seeing a donkey or a horse. The whole setup and atmosphere are a bit like in a fairytale. Food and drinks in the restaurant are pretty good and the small kiosk downstairs is perfect to enjoy something small outdoors. It's very picturesque but also fun for kids as there are chicken running around and of course the beautiful donkeys and horses. The store also offers natural and local produce.
