I called in here today as I was passing , went in the bar and my meal with a glass of coke told them I was sitting outside and was given a wooden spoon with a number on . Then I waited for 20 minutes a lady finally came to the table and dropped a meal on it, I said that's not mine to which she replied you it didn't you, I said no I sausage mash peas and gravy and what she brought was a grill of some sort with gammon and egg chips and other stuff. She then said that's what you ordered. Now maybe it's me but sausage mash and peas with gravy doesn't even sound like what was on the plate so without an apology she took it away and 15mins later a young girl brought what I out to me no condiments no cutlery no napkins. All in all shocking if I could give no stars I would. I gave 2 stars for the food it was eatable there wasn't a lot 2 table spoons of mash a tablespoon of peas 3 sausages for £11.75 with a small glass of coke. I thought it was not worth it. Will I go back..... NEVER. Not eaten here for a few years and was pleasantly surprised! Lovely food , well presented and very tasty. Oh and value too. very pleasant and helpful will definitely be back sooner rather than later. I hadn't been in for a few years and thought I'd take the wife for lunch. I must say it didn't disappoint, the food and was great!!!!! Cheap and cheerfull menu with all the regulars on there. Will definitely be going again. Pub grub - we have been here a few times and the food is always menu is very basic but that’s all you need and the desserts are always good! Nice indoor and outdoor seating they serve later than most so convenient too! Nicely done up inside with a crackling fire 🔥 We called in here for our tea on Monday whilst heading home after a long day and the were very friendly and welcoming. We’ve not been here for about 4 years and have to say the building itself is looking its age and is a bit shabby inside. The food was ok and we had very but it was hard to concentrate on eating This was due to a man with the LOUDEST voice I’ve ever heard indoors who was sitting near the bar. It was impossible not to listen to his continuous chatter and loud banter. If Heywood ever decides to appoint a town cryer then this bloke is the man for the job 😀 Ate here with 3 others yesterday - 13/07/25. We a table thinking that it would be busy, Sunday lunchtime after all, but it was very, very, quiet. Barely anyone sat outside on a glorious day which really surprised us. Inside there was a few busy tables taken, but again surprisingly quiet. We drinks and then food which came quite promptly tbf. Mine was really nice as apparently both the Hunters chicken and steak dishes were. Afterwards we had two sundaes and 2 chocolate fudge cakes - all delicious and decent portions. Both members of we dealt with were nice and the 'waitress' was very attentive. Overall an enjoyable 90 minutes despite the lack of atmosphere on this particular day. What we and what came out. Very unhappy. Chicken was over cooked and tasteless. Ended up leaving. Won't be back. We had raised our issues with a who had just brushed us off and seemed completely uninterested in our issue. Definitely will not be going back, and will strongly discourage anyone from coming here! We had our first visit here and had a experience. The were lovely, the food was delicious and it was a atmosphere. We will definitely be returning. My partner said it was the nicest mixed grill he has had, which for him is a compliment lol. We had a little bit of a wait for food due to a large party, but we were informed, thankfully it took half the time we were expecting. When the food came it was very plentiful, very hot and very enjoyable. Came in today with my partner and daughter, we food and the fries came covered in carbon from the fryer not being cleaned (I know this being a chef myself). We we're then offered replacement fries which also had carbon granted not as much but still coved the fries. This can cause cancer when eating to much so fries caked in it is not at all. When telling the manager he looked confused and asked me what carbon was so I guess he was clueless about hygiene in the kitchen. It looks like they have had some sort of leak and not painted over it. Grease marks all over the wall as well. Really bad experience won't be returning. Always a warm welcome from the and food is always an excellent standard with value for money. Cozy and warm pub and always clean with a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend the white hart to everyone Went to the White Heart Pub at Heywood for some lunch on Monday 28th Feb well I cannot praise this pub enough the food was piping hot and was really lovely. The welcome when we got there was fab it’s the first time we have used this pub but I can say it’s going to be the top of my list when I’m looking for somewhere to eat out. I came today and got to say the food was really the were friendly will definitely be back Had lunch with my husband last Wednesday 9th April 2025 and put a review on Trip Advisor but discovered Google reviews and think I prefer Google so although a week late this review is still heartfelt. Excellent response by to my allergen needs of requiring Gluten Free food due to being Coeliac. Over and above care and diligence even checking the dressing ingredients for me - not received that level of diligence from so called high end restaurants elsewhere.Congratulations to the management for their training and systems in place for customers with allergen needs. so friendly and a lovely atmosphere in the White Hart - we will be back. . food from chefs sarah, lou and corey paired with from Kelly B, Nathan and the Morgans. The fish and chips is one of the best i’ve ever had :) Went for lunch with friends unfortunately there was nothing on menu that I could eat so I cheesy chips they came in the smallest bowl with about 8 chips in it and not a lot of cheese either very disappointing We had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – I a steak and my husband had a burger, and both dishes were perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. For the kids, we chose from the children’s menu, which was also really tasty and well-prepared. They especially loved the ice cream dessert – beautifully presented with chocolate, strawberries, and chocolate syrup. It was such a nice touch that it was already included in the kids’ menu, and it made them so happy. The were very friendly and attentive, and we would like to give a special thank you to our waitress Nathan Lisa Julia. She made our evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for families – we will definitely come back! Order a chicken gyros was sent bacon not a piece of chicken in sight rang and was told we put shredded chicken only never bacon on flatbread when I can clearly see and eat only bacon absolutely disgusting no apology would not recommend absolutely avoid with all cost. This is the only review I have ever left in my life this is how strongly I feel to the response I have got. Male bar was abrupt and didn’t want me ordering food. Food came and it was not as pictured and overcooked. I made a complaint and was brushed off. Will definitely be avoiding this place and will be telling everyone to steer clear.
