The Atmosphere is very particular, goth, decadent, romantic, from each you get a nice view of the other castle, you can walk everything by feet, since all the ceilings fell down there is probably nothing to fear of anymore, but be careful anyways. As you walk and imagine how the looked back in the past, it seems even more impressive. The road is easy to go with sneakers. There is a view at the Eisenberg (several minutes away walking), equally amazing. Before the forest entrance, on the east, there is a restaurant - also a nice place to grab a beer with the Alps vista before (or after) the way.
