Very well preserved and renovated.i like how things and art craft are displayed. Fantastic! We had a lovely wander in this little village on Saturday with our kids. They live in Lyon and we were visiting from Colorado, USA. It was a bit chilly but we had a picnic and I took way too many photos. 😄 And of course we tried some galette de Perouges before we left. I can imagine it’s even more magical on a sunny day out during Christmas. This is a wonderful medieval city very close to Lyon with extremely nice artists having shops all over. The town is amazingly well preserved making it an absolute must visit. The center of town features a couple of great restaurants as well. What makes it truly special is the kindness of the various artists and artisans having shops around the town. Perfect for a short visit. Different food options and nice museum Beautiful city. Great look and it was wonderful to see that it wasn't overly commercialized. Visited in late May and there were many roses blooming. The village is stunning! So much has been written about it, that I don't need to add. Pay attention to the hours for lunch!!! Pass 2 p.m. and the only option will be pizza on the street! Amazingly preserved little village, it sits on the top of a hill and has amazing views and quaint shops. The buildings were amazing and it was great to walk around to get the feel of the place. We went on a Friday, on a half day trip from Lyon, and it was really worth it, not very crowded, you can see it all in about 40 minutes. It took about 20 minutes to get there from the SNCF station though, the way up is a bit steep and made of pebbles. It is not accessible by walking at all, considering the way up and the streets made of stone. In the central square there is a bar which sells the iconic galette and has great beer. I'd recommend the double blanche, very good and very well served. The galette was only ok though, I'd recommend tasting it for the experience, but don't get hyped. A Beautiful Medieval Town Near Lyon... This town feels like a step back in time. Stone houses, narrow streets, and a peaceful vibe. Just walk around, take in the views, and try the local sugar tart...it’s really good. There’s easy parking right outside the village, and it costs 3 euros. Perfect for a short and relaxing trip.
