The park outside the museum is for a walk or enjoying the sun. The view to the river is too I'm glad I visited but it's not what I expected, I was imagining walking into an old chateau and walking around the rooms etc like in lassay. Because of all the modern parts and flooring etc it feels like your only looking at an old wall here and there and only a very small part of it. It was interesting though and good displays. Great little visit and amazing to see how the building has changed through time. A really evening event. The medieval market was fabulous. It's a shame that it wasn't better advertised One of the best explained histories I ever had. This ancient (carolingian) has great audio visual aids and explanations and a temporary exhibit about 19th century castles in the region. Highly recommend it. Great of mayenne. medieval architecture, large, string and beautiful. It is situated not so far from the city center. The garden next to the is nice. Opposite of the is the Mayenne river. I came to Mayenne many time but it’s the first time I visited here, it is worth a visit. Lots of centuries of history to this amazing place. Really fun activity trail for children. A way to whilst away a few hours in the city, reasonable priced entry for the family. Would recommend to all, not overly accessible but then 14th century architects probably weren't thinking if this when they designed it Superbe visite, le château a été rénové et il est dans un état magnifique. L'accueil est parfait. Rien à dire super visite Très beau musée et très intéressant pour les enfants, chateau magnifique Went to the night festival, very popular we bumped into lots of friends. Entry free, parking close by. Wonderfully atmospheric! Great job of making history come alive. Good English translations. Brilliant museum, plenty on interactive stuff for children and adults of all ages. Under 18's free and only 4euros per adult. Well worth the money. Quite a mall but the self directed tour works well and you can easily spend an hour to an hour and a half here. Great lift for pushchairs and disabled. Free parking just outside, we were lucky as it was busy. If you don't mind a 10 minute walk you can park on the opposite side of the river in the shadow of the for free where there looked to be plenty of room or else pay at the metered parking.
