We highly recommend Senja Husky! Chloe and Mayel are from France and came to Norway for a winter, but fell in with the and ended up staying for good. You can see that they truly care about the dogs, they know each dog’s name by heart. Their own dog which is a Canadian Eskimo Dog is getting trained to join the husky pack in their sledding adventures soon! They take the time to tell you about the routine, eating habits, life in winter and summer, and they shared several stories about them and their different personalities. The sledding was during the morning walk so the were full of energy! After the sledding, we fed the with frozen raw meat which they absolutely loved, and then they took naps in the sun while we cuddled with them. Small, very nice company. By far not as commercial as some of the big tourist companies in the area. Friendly dogs, no problem at all even with small kids. The guides took good care of us all, warm clothes, everything well prepared. One little point that could have been better: 5 on one sled often didn't manage to pull the sled, so it was a lot of walking and having to push the sled most of the time. You had to be quite fit to manage that. There should be at least 6 on one sled to make the less exhausting. Hey:) Thanks for the amazing hours with your Dogs. I excatly miss especially one dog, the owner knows which one:) The couple who had a walk in a natinalpark with us and the two husky were really nice and friendly, they really there life there. and you can feel the passion they got for the huskys and how much they have for them. I miss this place already and wanne say thanks again. and i miss you alredy. thanks for being lovley and kind. hope to see you soon. hugs Unforgettable experience. Great host ( can't remember his name - was there 2022). He was patient, informative, and commanative. Hospitality was fantastic & most of all - he loved what he was doing. We were included from start to end with the Huskys. The Huskys are taken care of very well - Majestic & strong race of dog. Wow 💪 Definitely, coming back soon. Note: It's possible to borrow a snowsuit. My with Senja Husky Adventure was nothing short of magical, offering the perfect escape into the heart of Norway's breathtaking wilderness. Whether bathed in the golden glow of daylight or enthralled by the ethereal beauty of the night sky, each moment spent on this adventure was unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, the team at Senja Husky Adventure made me feel right at home. Their passion for the huskies and the serenity of the Norwegian landscape was infectious. The huskies were not only friendly and well-cared for but also incredibly enthusiastic about leading us through the pristine snow-covered trails. The daytime tour offered stunning vistas of Senja's rugged beauty, with majestic mountains and serene fjords providing a breathtaking backdrop. As we glided effortlessly across the snow, the crisp air invigorated our senses, making us feel truly alive and connected with the natural world. The nighttime was nothing short of enchanting. As the Northern Lights danced overhead, I felt as though I had stepped into a dream. The tranquility of the night, punctuated by the gentle sound of the sled on snow, was a moment of pure wonder and reflection. Senja Husky Adventure provided a seamless blend of exhilarating adventure and serene moments of awe. It's an that speaks to the soul, inviting you to embrace the wild beauty and tranquility of the Norwegian wilderness. I wholeheartedly recommend this adventure to anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable connection with nature. So much fun! Can be a strenuous activity so I recommend cardio training ahead of time - frankly my husband did all the work getting us unstuck whenever necessary. Main points: - the are SO happy. I was worried they wouldn’t be having never done anything like this before, but WOW. The are so happy to pull. They make a ton of noise when you stop and they just want to run. - the couple currently running the operation clearly know each of the well and them and their jobs. My husband and I travel full time in our self-converted sprinter van. We've been to 13 countries so far, and our day out with Senja Husky Adventure was by far and away our most enjoyable experience!! We chose this location over others because it's a family run business and they have actual Siberian Huskies where as other locations did not have huskies and were only interested in payment from tourists. Senja Husky Adventure proved to be better than we could have imagined. We arrived about 20 minutes early - something you should plan to do in case you hit traffic/get lost (it's important to pay attention to, and factor in the weather, too) - and we were immediately welcomed warmly by Jonny and the amazing huskies!! The are so friendly and affectionate. We went into a small building where we put on large snowsuits, wool socks, boots and thick mittens. Dress appropriately though underneath - good base layers, thick socks, scarf/snood, hat, etc. Sunglasses are also a good idea to have on hand. All of the snowsuits have a breast pocket zipper so it's a great place for your phone. If you're the passenger, it's easy to take photos and videos as you go. When you're the musher, it can be a little counterintuitive at first but it's easy to pick up and get going. If you're turning right, your weight goes to your left leg, then the opposite to turn left. Don't worry if you fall off while mushing (I fell twice! No biggie!) You'll land on lovely soft snow. Just be sure to call to your passenger that you've fallen off so they can throw the "emergency brake." Jonny was super patient with everyone who fell. We were lucky that I only fell twice and my husband never fell, but the other couples we were with struggled a bit more. It may have slowed us a bit, waiting for the others to get going again, but it gave us an opportunity to take in the gorgeous views! We took amazing photos and videos, this was just absolutely the best day! We cannot recommend this enough! These are amazing, and very well looked after. Their owners definitely them very much. Senja is also a gorgeous island to explore so it's well worth the trip. If we ever return to Norway, and I sure hope we do, we are definitely coming back! Lovely with lovely host! Really worth a visit. Huskies are well trained and friendly to visitors. Johnny das a great job with his huskies. You can stay with a mobile home and get electricity.
