The atmosphere is nice, everyone knows everyone and you'll see older men playing cards at the tables while young kids run around. Very scenic. Bar Parada is a local bar / cafetería 30 minutes drive inland from the Costa Tropical. Not many tourists make it here, but those that do, enjoy the wonderful scenery and tranquil surroundings of Los Guájares. If you hang around til late afternoon the locals get together in the bar for a game of cards or dominoes. I challenge anyone to understand a word they say during the game. The local dialect is a killer. The place is a kicker. Locals and some expats. Cool atmosphere, great service, always served and a charm in the air. I swing buy every time i drive by - often :-) Stopped on our travels for a drink and was served quickly the most tasty included in the drinks price. Cannot say how tasty each was, several types of pork in succulent spicy and flavoursome sauces. Will be back just for the alone! Someone in the kitchen can really cook! Friendly smiley service too! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED! Alas closed so no coffee or beer. They are have builders in and are renovating the bar. It will be smart when they have finished I hope. Called in for a drink in this extremely scenic location. At first my little knowledge of Spanish was confusing but eventually the barman understood me and made us very welcome and gave us a of home made potato Tortilla which was great. Will go again. Cracking little village bar and restaurant. Recently refurbished and under new management. Very friendly new owners and staff serving excellent quality, good value food. The menú del día costs 13 Euro and includes two large courses of excellent, homemade, local food. If you’re still hungry, the cakes and coffee are also tasty. Well worth a try. Nice local cafe.
