Absolutely wonderful from the team at The Firecrest. We held our wake there for our dear mum, after recommendation from the funeral directors (Heritage & Sons, Wendover, also excellent). At every step, the Firecrest team were kind, helpful, calm and reassuring, and they gave us plenty of to finalise numbers and specification (food, refreshments etc.). In advance, we were very happy to see ample parking space, a weight off our minds. The pub is beautiful outside and within, absolutely full of characterful furnishings, and I particularly loved the fascinating variety of art and photos. Chef did a job, the sandwiches were home-made, and delicious – guests comments on this, and also enjoyed the chips and salad. I also really liked the wines. The team did a splendid job, and helped us celebrate mum’s life in an uplifting, warming atmosphere. We’ll always remember the day, it meant a lot to us. Sincere thanks to you all. TS. I dropped in on a whim for a takeaway Sunday roast as my wife came out of hospital that day and I didn't want to inflict my cooking on her. It was very busy, with people being told that there were no tables free at all. Even the bar area was full. The order arrived and after a quick ping in the microwave when I got home, our meal was great. Only criticism I have is the car park needs to have it's lines painted. No dedicated area for disabled users visible. A beautiful, low wood beamed, country pub. Open fires and amazing Sunday roasts. I had the beef and it was amazing. Good beer selection and good as well. Will definitely revisit. The signature burger was ace. Well worth it for that sauce. Chips were and well-seasoned. Onion rings made an mini starter as part of the main. Drinks were pricey. We were with a big party and food was served quickly and it was all hot, which was impressive. Puddings were a bit of a mixed bag. Some ingredients were missing from the puddings - probably due to a big order. place with service, however. Nice food. I ordered the seabass and it was delicious. The only downside was that there were wasps flying around while we were eating (we deliberately chose to eat indoors but they still managed to bother us). Fortunately, the were kind and let us move to another table. I really don't fancy dining with wasps, as they're one of my biggest fears. Just had at the Firecrest for the first and I'm amazed I haven't heard about how its food is sooner. Our table ordered the Lamb Shank and pie of the day which were both well presented, tasty and perfectly cooked and then cheesecake and Eton Mess for desert which were both to die for. I can't wait to come back and try their Sunday roasts as I'm sure the chef will cook that to perfection like the dishes were cooked today. So much characted and fabulous service! My family and I recently visited The Firecrest in Wendover for a family Sunday lunch, and we were absolutely delighted with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the was exceptional - attentive, friendly and genuinely warm. We felt so well looked after, with the going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. My kids felt very special indeed and my daughter drew pictures to leave with the ladies who looked after us so well. The Sunday was a hit with the entire family. Each dish was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The was welcoming with an and fantastic food. We’ll definitely be back soon! We recently checked out The Firecrest in Wendover, and we had a proper good there! Booking and changing our table for ten people was really straightforward, and our table was ready when we rocked up. The were on the ball, giving us a heads up about any potential delays in the kitchen, which was brilliant. The food and drinks were spot on, and Andy and Jess gave us absolutely service, looking after us a treat, especially with our little birthday bash! storing the cake and making sure everything was sorted. Just a heads-up for the taller folks out there some of the clearances are a bit snug, so you might feel a bit like Gandalf in the Hobbit! But we'd definitely recommend The Firecrest Inn to anyone looking for a good, tasty meal with proper atmosphere. We had a fantastic and will be booking again soon, for sure!" We had a evening tonight at The Firecrest! Zoe was a server who really looked after us! We've just had a today with our friends who were visiting from Canada for his 80th Birthday. Thank you, the food was delicious, we all enjoyed it, and they made a fuss of our little four-legged Archie. We had a welcome from the team (so sorry, we didn't get their names), the pub is gorgeous and they even brought out a small piece of cake for the Birthday Boy (when we were too full for dessert) with a candle in it!! We had a time, shame it's such a long way away from where we live (Chippenham, Wiltshire) and experience. Loved the food. The best steak my Dad has had in 15 years (it was Blue). Highly recommend. Landlord was very supportive of his and led his teams well. In all a very enjoyable evening had. Our family visited The Firecrest for and we’re certain we’ll be returning. The were extremely friendly, and very welcoming to our dogs - upon arrival, there is a station with dog beds, treats and water which can be taken as needed. The food was excellent, the portion sizes are for the price. The toilets were well sign posted and very clean. We have no complaints. **EDIT** Since we left, we discovered that we’d lost a valuable piece of jewellery. After calling the pub, they searched everywhere, including in the dog beds we’d used, and found it! They couldn’t have been more helpful!
