I did not know that you can park your car in Trapani and use the cable car from there to Erice. Would definitely recommend visiting Erice, its a beautiful town full of history and the cable car exepeience is a wonderful way to take in the amazing view of Siciliy. The ticket prices for visiting the numerous churches in Erice and the the cable car price is very reasonable. A must do experience. If too windy cableway will not run, but once you get to the top, it is wonderful. The town itself is also wonderful. While staying in Erice, we bought a weekly pass and had unlimited access. We rode down to Trapani regularly. Also, if you have prepaid tickets you can skip the line at the bottom. Definitely worth the 26€ each. Great place, beautiful view. You can see beautiful Trapani and amazing turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea. Point is open till 11 pm in Sundays (before Summer season, in the begining of June). Ticket for adult is 9.50 EUR (up and down). Very easy to get on, €11 for a return ticket and we went around 11am in May and there was no queue at all to get on the cable cars. Comfortable for the 10-15 min journey and easy to get on and off. Cable cars give a lovely view of the salt pans as well. Highly recommend taking the car up to Eriche. They could use some cleaning up but the views are spectacular Very nice. We went at sunset and it was absolutely beautiful. It is not a short ride which gives you a lot of time to soak up the view. By the time we went back up the sun had set and there wasn’t much to see so if you are thinking of going the morning and sunset time are the perfect time to go. They have a website where you can check the prices but we paid less for children as they have discounted prices. All in all it was a nice experience and the views were beautiful. No queuing, great views.
