Thought they would serve good speciality coffes. Orange cake was amazingly good. Brownie the same. Coffee could be definitely better- my double espresso was more like a long black (no body, no foam, very light aroma), and the flat white was milk with a small dash of coffee. The place for vegetarian/vegan people, but everyone should try it. Everything was perfect, I enjoyed especially the tofu salty cake This cafe is the definition of coziness and comfort. While it may feel ‘overpriced’ for some people, if you value high-quality, organic and vegan food and ingredients, come here without a doubt. I’ll start with the drinks cause I think they were the stars: gorgeous, warm enough yet not burnt-milk type of hot so perfect, plenty of non-caffeinated drinks and the two we tried (Maca latte and Pink latte) were soooo good!!!!! Agh, I wish I could have them every day of my life. Food was superb! We ordered tofu pie, samosa and quiche for takeaway, and the lemon tart and banana bread to dine in. Everything was very tasty, the only thing we didn’t love was the lemon tart as it had a bitter taste, but we removed all of the jelly-like stuff on top (it looked like it had lemon peels/seeds?) and it tasted better, but that’s just us. Ambience was lovely! Music was just a bit too loud but besides that it was awesome. The only ‘negative’ feedback I have is that one of the two members of the staff seemed a bit bothered, -the other one was lovely. It was 5 to 8pm, and while I do understand they were closing at 8, it felt a bit rushed not to even ask if we were going to finish or take the rest of the cake and just try and take the plates away. I guess it had been a long day for them. Besides that, everything was very enjoyable and would definitely recommend and come back!!! We loved this place! They serve plant-based, organic food, and I believe everything is sugar-free too. I was so happy to discover this gem. The food tastes amazing—the açaí bowl with all the toppings and the maca latte with soy milk are my favorites. I also highly recommend the homemade kombucha, as well as the sweet and savory waffles, dumplings, and quiche. Portion sizes vary, which I actually appreciate. If you’re really hungry, go for the bowls or waffles—the dumplings and quiche are a bit smaller. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A delicious and heartwarming experience at Roots in Aljezur! I had the most delightful lunch at Roots. The quiche was absolutely delicious — perfectly baked and full of flavor. It came with a fresh side salad with tomatoes and sesame seeds, which added a lovely touch of freshness and crunch. But what made the experience truly special was the warm, radiant service from the three wonderful women: Rita, Tina, and Sonia. Their smiles, kindness, and vibrant energy brought so much joy to the moment. You can feel the love not only in the food but also in the atmosphere they create. Highly recommended if you're in Aljezur — it's more than just a restaurant, it's a nourishing experience for the heart and soul. 💚 What a vibe this place is. Cosy inside and love sitting on the cushions. The food is incredible! We got the lemon tart and banana bread both amazing and all vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free. Had the savoury waffles too which were also delicious. Everything tasted fresh and vibrant. Would defo come back! Absolutely love this place!
