Calico parque is a mixed park with a lot of permanent houses and full time residents, and an adjacent camping area. We went with our campervan and spent 4 nights, and really loved it. There are a variety of different sized plots, some quite open and others well shaded, and the bathroom/showers adequate. There is also a lovely well maintained pool that is free to use when camping, and a really good restaurant/bar run by two really friendly french couples. The bar is the social center of the park and is a great place to meet people. We had a great time, and will definitely be back! Despite some not so good reviews, i hilly advise this place: because first is cheap then is not overcrowded has good views, is quite etc. when camping may is difficult to stick the spikes of your tent in the ground but after few tries you get it , also may not enough shadows but I wasn't in the tent during day time so it doesn't matter. The rest just perfect. Is a camping park with closed gates and peaceful location os a hill with view to the ocean from a distance. Has lots of houses or camping spaces. You can purchase a little house and reside permanently. Has swimming pool with a restaurant owned and operated by french family. Trees, singing birds, ocean breeze, what a place to enjoy Algarve. Lovely quiet park for holidaying. We visited in May, liked the place so much we purchased a home on site. Classed as a residential site though you can camp or rent a van privately. Lovely basic pool , stunning scenery , nice and quite away from the holiday masses. Just back after another week, I stayed with friends who are residents. Lovely welcome from all, and the food is now delicious with a French chef. Log burner in the restaurant great all round.
