Dramatic rock face with sweeping over Guisborough. On a clear day, it's possible to see the summit of Roseberry Topping, the Captain Cook monument on the moors, out to Redcar and to the sea beyond. Highcliff Nab itself is worth seeing in its own right, with striking colous and impressive shapes formed by erosion of the rock. The pink Fireweed was very impressive when I visited in July. I parked in Hutton Village and walked up the wooded trails to reach Highcliff, not a huge distance but a fairly steep climb at points, took about 40 minutes but I was stopping to take photos! A beautiful place to visit with outstanding views. Lovely up Highcliffe Nab today, such a great place to up and quite an easy although not suitable for wheelchairs. A great with lots of starting point options. Whilst I’ve walked up from Hutton Village in the past, there’s also a good round from Belmangate and returning back into the Hunters Hill estate. Great over the town and towards the sea. Great from Roseberry Topping, almost had the whole path to myself. A few dog walkers and a few mountain bikes. Highcliff road path is a great wide large path to get up and down from Hutton village area Great and good clear paths leading you to the top. Can be very windy on the top Amazing views, beautifully peaceful. Best of all, if you follow the Tees Link path its just a short from the edge of town. Highcliff Nab is a rocky outcrop above Guisborough with panoramic across Tees Valley and the North York Moors. It’s a popular spot for hiking, linking to the Cleveland Way and trails through Guisborough Forest. Routes range from gentle woodland paths to longer, steeper moorland climbs. Parking and visitor facilities are nearby at Guisborough Forest & Walkway Centre. Clear weather brings the best views, and sturdy footwear is highly recommended. Once a year I can climb to the top, very misty couldn't see anything today, but we made it brilliant Feels and looks so far away but the really isn’t too bad, lots of relatively steep banks to up but a lot is flat as well. Plenty of resting places if you need them. Watch out for bikes though some don’t think and just go zooming around blind corners. Good exercise to get-up there, well worth it with amazing ! Started from the rose-berry topping car park, went to the summit, then walked along to Highcliff. Ground was a bit muddy so walking boots preferable. Nice scenery altogether.
