No real 'underground ' as it's all closed off, but that makes it non-scary for those that aren't so keen on dark places. We visited this fabulous on a Saturday morning. We booked online for 1030am for 2 adults and 2 children. We arrived and 5 minutes after arrival, a was starting. We put on our hard hats and off we went. It was absolutely brilliant. It has a wonderful museum/ display at the start which you can after the too but I'd suggest getting there 30-45 mins early to take a look at first. All the staff there were lovely and Informative especially our guide- he seemed incredibly well informed and was actually a volunteer. He knew his stuff well also had some info about local areas. Even though I'd tried all evening to get a ticket online, I couldn't. (Squiggly circle every time payment meant t be going through.)
