Kids’ was value at £7 for starter, main and dessert. Our mains were too – I had the steak at around £31, the only downside being that I asked for medium to well-done but it came out well-done. Overall, a nice experience with pricing and definitely worth the trip from Withernsea. Brilliant food and service. Would definitely recommend to others. Fantastic restaurant! Me and my partner went in on the off chance for food and drinks. We were very relieved to be able to be seated. The are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. With a very portion size. The desserts are fantastic! I could not leave without having one. Great prices for it all. We are definitely going back in the near future. Food arrived and the beef and turkey were very dry and chewy, upon the checking back advised of this and left most of 1 meal. Plates collected, no further response from the team. Waited 20 mins whilst finishing drinks, finally went to the bar to pay and left. I always find it hard to understand how a local business does not want to know of issues in their business but hey, up to them I guess. I doubt we will be returning or recommending. Beer and were to be fair, just Sunday lunch and follow up to negative feedback lacking. We went to the stags head while we were on holiday , we were attracted to this pub due to the menu, selection they catered for our large family 11 of us plus the dog. to find a dog pub plus they had a dog menu. They were very accommodating with our food choices, swapping out etc. food came in time . We liked it so much we came back for another meal. Our favourites were the pie, teriyaki salmon, haddock and chips,burgher, First time we visited and will definitely be back. On arrival the pub is very clean and welcoming. We had two courses which were delicious, neither me or my husband could fault our visit it was perfect. I'm on a mission to find the best roast in the East Riding. The happy problem I'm having is that, so far, they are all brilliant. The Stag's Head is in the middle of nowhere so is perfect if you like that proper country pub feel. The are brilliant, a proper place where you feel right at home. I've now been twice because the food is so good. They also have decent beer with me being partial to a Timothy Taylor Landlord or two. The portions are "proper Yorkshire" as are the Yorkies and there is as much gravy as you can drink. The desserts are too with some real crowd pleasers - I haven't dared go for a starter as I can't handle that much food. If you want a relaxing, meal with beer in the countryside this is definitely one to try. My wife and I had dinner here on 3 occasions last week with our labrador whilst staying in Yorkshire on holiday for the week. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by whose was amazing. The decor of the pub was so and the food was absolutely amazing. We were very happy to see a for dogs as well, such a little touch that we have never seen anywhere before. Needless to say, our lab absolutely loved going each time, knowing he was getting a treat from the menu. We would highly recommend this pub if you are looking for a meal in a nice place served by very professional and polite people. We were staying nearby for a New Years break and found this gem for New Year’s Day dinner. The was amazing, you can tell it’s well loved by all. It was and cosy the were and the food was incredible. We would definitely travel to come back for more food! The best restaurant I've tried in the area. The food is excellent, and the is impeccable. My husband and I took our 2 dogs there and everyone loved it! The dogs had the sausages off the dog and the people had the mixed grill, soup of the day with crusty bread (it was a delicious veggie soup with spinach and aubergines), shrimp cocktail and shared brownie and ice cream dessert. was warm, and attentive. My husband loved the selection of hand pulled craft ales too! The was very charming with a country pub feel. We will certainly be returning! Top notch pub with an extensive of tasty fare. The steak pie & chips was delish and a healthy enough portion that despite being hungry I could barely finish it. Four real ales to choose from along with the usual taps. service, altho maybe a smidge slow (it was quite busy and we were not sat in the main dining area so fair enough). My sister ordered the halloumi and mushroom burger but was served a halloumi and mushroom stir fry and ended up happier with that 🤣. We shared the black pudding scotch egg to start and it was superb.
