Really enjoyable and interesting place which i would highly recommend, I booked a private with tasting session through trip advisor costing £19 which was very good value, the talked about the history and making of the which I found fascinating and then tried different salts in the main factory at the end, it's quite remote so going by car is recommended, not sure if a bus goes to this location, I got a taxi which was fine going but awkward to organise getting back to hotel. Excellent around the flats today. So interesting to hear how everything is done and see the natural formation. Our was really great, very knowledgeable about the whole process. We even got to sample the salt, wine and cheese that is produced locally! On a sunny afternoon, we had the pleasure of visiting Salinas de Janubio with our Martin, who was incredibly kind and truly passionate about his work. Walking through the ponds where the is “harvested” was a fascinating experience. It’s an ancient process producing an exceptionally high-quality product, and the history behind this place is truly unique. At the end of the tour, we enjoyed a tasting of various salts paired with fresh tomatoes and cheeses, perfectly complemented by refreshing water and local Malvasia wine. Overall, it was a top-notch experience that I highly recommend! One of only two remaining producing areas on the Island this was an interesting visit. We had a from the coach we were on and he was very knowledgeable. Most of the lagoons are no longer in use as the fishing industry on the island has all but faded away but there is still some production taking place here. The process was explained and we were walked though all the different stages of production. There is a Gift Shop where you can buy and there are limited toilet facilities there as well. All in all an interesting visit! Very nice bilingual deutsch-english visit organised by Vicky. We learnt a lot about production and we were impressed by her enthusiastic presentation. We will never see the same way than previously. To be discovered. We had a really interesting and enjoyed some amazing sights. A fascinating element of Lanzarote’s heritage. Our Dalia was very friendly and informative, she did a great job explaining everything. Thank you! Such a awesome experince. Our great Viki was amazing, she explained everything from history to production in english despite we were only two person in group of 12 spanish speakers. We recommend this 100%. included tasting and we also tasted wine. Viki, you absolutely made our today unforgettable! Your knowledge and passion for the area shone through, making every moment truly special. The tasting with the fresh tomatoes and local cheeses was a culinary highlight. We can't thank you enough for making this such a success. If we ever return to Lanzarote, we'll definitely be booking another with you... at 10 o'clock 😁!
