Been coming here every year for a few years now as the bluebell display this time of year is simply stunning. The National Trust have improved the path around the woods to make it even more enjoyable. Some limited opposite which leads into heart of Ashridge which is also stunning. Go see before the fade. Amazing place. Is part of ashridge estate - but be warned it’s a longgg walk from the estate recommend to drive there directly though can be tricky as fills up quick. PS : free if national trust member, not sure if you have to pay if not. We came here during the first week of May on a circular hike from Tring to see the bluebells. It was amazing. It's a lovely woodland area, the can be sighted here when the season is right :). The area has very uneven ground and quite a lot of pot holes. Despite the parking, the woodland area is definitely worth a visit :). The place is technically closed at the moment as the Forrester's are cutting down diseased trees and doing general maintenance. Lovely wood but the carpark layout suggests limited once open unless they move the logs to widen the track Just been to see the bluebells, 29th April. They are at their best at the moment, nice to see English rather than the Spanish ones, I think the colour is a deeper blue Beautiful woods, saw the tail end of season. Such beautiful carpet of and amazing scent. Followed by a nice walk at Ivinghoe Beacon part of National trust. Worth visiting for a great day out in the nature. Carparking is available. I think these is best place to see bluebells. When ever you go you can see every where. Magic forest will impress you for sure. You have nice free parking, cafe with big choice, coffee shop and delicious ice cream shop. A lovely little wood to experience the beautiful and wander through at leisure.Theres a small free car park opposite the wood and often a icecream van for refreshments! We come every year...love it Beautiful forestry areas! Perfect to go on walks with your family and friends, and also a great place to cycle! Currently it is bluebell season, so it's definitely a great time to go on a dry/warm day☺️ Beautiful place. in season now.
