This is a wonderful just north of the M25 that offers miles of paths, numerous lakes and a sense of tranquility. It's big enough to give everyone enough space and it's dead flat, with hard paths, so it's accessible by all. A great place to get away from the world. River Lee Country is one of our favorite places for walking, offering a perfect blend of nature, wildlife, and peaceful scenery. We usually in Waltham Abbey and walk here, enjoying the well-maintained trails that meander through wetlands, woodlands, and open meadows. The provides an excellent escape from the city, with plenty of space for leisurely strolls, cycling, and even birdwatching. The River Lee Navigation adds a special charm, with narrowboats gently gliding along the water. The pathways are mostly flat and well-paved, making them accessible for all visitors, whether on foot or bike. One of the highlights of the is the abundance of wildlife. Swans, herons, and kingfishers can often be spotted along the riverbanks, and in spring and summer, the wildflowers bring vibrant colors to the landscape. The peacefulness of the area makes it ideal for a relaxing walk, and even on weekends, it never feels overcrowded. Despite this minor issue, the park's vastness and variety offer something for everyone, whether you're seeking a quiet spot to relax or an active day out exploring nature. Interesting with lots of so close to the London metropolis. This was very beautiful. I have been visiting here many times over the past years. On 9/9/2024, I found the best part between Hooks Marsh Car and Fishers Green Car to become the wost part! The plants have been left to overgrow and cover nearly everywhere! All those beautiful views of the past are no longer there. The rest of the is not that bad. The is very big with many lakes, waterways, footpaths and boathouses. However, there's only one public toilet at Fishers Green Car Park. This car is monitored by many cameras. If you don't pay for your parking, you'll get a PCN! There are many towers carrying high power electric cables in the top half of the park. It's a wonderful place to see and be outdoors The perfect balance of human elements like solid walkways, benches and signposts and the rest of it is just the natural land. Whether you want to just get the steps on and take a relaxed stroll amongst the trees and greenery, or a enthusiast looking to see all the local life or looking to make a round trip visiting the different wooden sculptures and set pieces such as the giant chair, then the country should advisory be your destination. There are facilities of different kinds for around but other than that you can just embrace the fresh air and natural surroundings. Suitable for wheelchair, prams, bikes etc. Nice walks for a day out surrounded by and fauna. Quiet place with the sound of chirping birds. Many walks to go around. Beautiful place, not many people on the trails. Bird watching area house. Beautiful to have a walk around. Can easily spend a good few hours here. There's parking, a pub and cafe too! Love this open and natural space lots to see and do great walks, biking and fishing with lots more. Shame the river lea has been taken over by house boats Extremely beautiful place. Sooo peaceful and calming. Can have really good walks theres. Didn't realise how big the place was. Recommended. My sister and I came here for a roam around nature. It is very nice here and the water is serene and it is calm and peaceful. I wish I had a wire haired fox terrier crossed with a Jack Russell to walk alongside me. I would bring him here every day. I am now inspired to live on a boat on the canal. Absolutely love walking around, perfect for dogs, children and a casual stroll. Definitely worth the travel. Amazing !!!
