I was here a long time ago, and it was the best sweet experience in my life. Delicious cakes of any kind, good pastries, in a cozy interior, with old furniture Hungarian style (somehow too serious). It remains in my memory, like the place to go if passing by or if badly need a perfect cake. Today (2025) I came again, and I was surprised to find-out that the place has changed. Cannot remember if the name (Rigo Jancsi) și the same like in the past or not, but the whole interior is different. Somehow, it's more modern, but not in a good way. I tried two cakes and was a little disappointed. While not being of bad quality, they're definitely not the same class, like during my last visit. The cremschnitt is mediocre. Good tasting vanilla filling, but the upper crust is too firm, and it is not possible to cut it with the teaspoon w/o smashing the filling and spreading the vanilla all over. Long story short, this is not a quality cremschnitt. Cofee was, by contrast, very tasty. The staff (two ladies) were friendly and caring, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. This was the only place we could have a cup of coffee in the city centre, but the coffee maker didn't work, so we tried some ice and a piece of peanut which was very sweet but ok. The ice instead was a tiny tiny one. Prices are not low. The back yard is a pizza pub but we didn't try actually. Toilets are unpleasant, to say just that. You can find there as well Ice cream. The cafes has excellent and cookies. They also have a stand in the Kaufland mall. A Julius Meinhl Expresso is one euro. A very cozy place, very quiet and clean. The owners really take care of customers. The only disadvantage is that you can't walk to the old city centre (about 3 km). A very nice cafeteria with plenty cakes to choose from. Extremely nice ladies help you to make a decision (if you don't want to buy all the cakes, of course). There is coffee here and a great variety of alcoholic beverages. Also non-alcoholic drinks. One must try Rigo Jancsi, a Szekely specialty. If you miss the comunist athmosphere, visit Rigo Jancsi ;-) .... you need to pay in advance at the bar, no cofee because the lady can't use the cofee machine, the alternative would be 3 in 1 :-(.
