Greatstone is a sandy in Kent. When we visited the it wasn't very busy. The was clean an be tidy. There is a pay & display car park very close to the beach. On the village near the he car park there is a fish and chips ship and a kebab shop. There is also a block of public toilet near the beach. Went early to avoid the crowds. Pay and display car park adjacent to free public toilets. Absolutely fabulous sandy beach. Dogs are permitted at certain times and in certain sections between 1st April and 1st September. A bit further than other beaches but that just made it quieter. Love coming here, sandy beach, and lots of shells to collect. The only issue is that some people are inconsiderate to the environment. They leave their rubbish around, which makes me feel unsafe to walk barefoot in case there is a broken glass or sharp object. I love coming here but disappointing some people have no respect and care for the environment. Lovely sandy not overly busy Lovely place to relax beautiful dunes Absolutely wonderful beach, much easier to walk to on the than lots of others as it is a small incline. Lovely sand, not overcrowded when we went at all. The water was even warm! And you could get quite far out paddling before it got deep. Car park which is easy to pay in several ways, public toilets (there are several blocks along the beach, the ones next to this patch weren’t the best but better than none!), an outside shower for cleaning off. We even got lucky with an ice cream man. Our new favourite I think, reminds us of being in Ireland with the dunes 🤗 A few things to remember: • I would bare in mind is that the toilets are seasonal so won’t be open all year round. • Our directions took us to little stone which is just further along the coast line and FULL OF STONES. Great stone seems to be a small patch of between so I’m glad we didn’t give up. • Dogs are allowed on this beach, there was even a cat! Just in case you have children who aren’t confident around animals. We are a family of 6, with children aged between 13 - 8 months. I would Lovely stretch of beach. During the day the tide was quite in so a long stretch of for the kids to play in. Lots of shells to collect. A fish and chips as well as Kebab & pizza shop nearby for lunch or dinner. The is very fine so was flying everywhere - i am sure we ate a bit along with our food 🙂 Today was sunny but quite windy. Overall a lovely day to be out at the beach. Not very crowded, and lots of parking space available in the car park or nearby streets. The best sandy beach! Quiet and peaceful in the morning, even when it got busier there was still plenty of space and great fun. There are public toilets, pay and display parking or we have found a space on the side roads. A couple restaurants in the area but if you want I recommend the Pilot Inn, 7 min drive and no reservations needed. My favourite spot in Kent! After learning to kite surf, this has become THE spot to go to. Clean, beautiful and so much around to explore. There’s great amenities on site: toilets and parking. Local to the spot is the infinity kite sport centre and a great local chippy. After finding the kite shop, I’ve been welcomed into a great community called “girls kite together” and the fun since joining hasn’t stopped after leaving the beach. Event, BBQs, winter movie nights, you name it. Thanks to this I have truly found my people.
