I have just been to see Wind in the Willows with my mum for her birthday, and I just want to say AMAZING! the performers were some of the best I have seen for a long time, true professionals my hat off to each and everybody of you. Time just flew by, we laughed, we cried, we cheered in fact we experienced every emotion. It was also my first time at the theatre, but I will be making the trip again. I also really enjoyed the food and drink at the cafe. A big shout to all the staff I was made to feel really welcome. If you are looking for something to do this Christmas, get a booking. We had a wonderful, and very enjoyable, guided tour of this "uniquely built", hand crafted, in Prescot. Our tour guide, Bridget, was exceptionally good, very knowledgeable. The history of theatre, and the Shakespeare connection, in Prescot that has led to this being built was fascinating. The building itself is also a great community asset. Came here with my daughter for the first time, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the performance of Alice in Wonderland, especially the young girl who played the White Rabbit. We both thought she was brilliant with her different accents! Drinks and snacks are very reasonably priced, and I loved the seating area. I didn't expect much when our Northern friends took us to Prescot for a staging of The Tempest. But seeing the venue was enough to put my assumptions of makeshift community to rest. It's a top-notch building and professional space, every bit as impressive as anything in the West End. Same goes for the performance we witnessed, with The HandleBars company — one of the tightest, most creative shows I've ever seen. Highly recommended. What a lovely venue with so much community engagement and practical spaces must come and see a performance here the stage set up in the round is wonderful Just seen Love's Labours Lost on 8 March 2025. All have been excellent and it's a great venue. The recent has been our favourite 'Loves labours lost' Feel so lucky to have this little gem of a on our doorstep. We have visited several times to both the indoor and outdoor and I’m yet to find a production we didn’t love. The indoor Cockpit is a lovely intimate setting with bench seats, not all of them have backs so it’s worth checking what is best for you before you book. Wherever you’re sat there is a good view and you feel part of the action. I really like that all productions have age guidance on so you know which are the most family friendly. Whenever we have visited we have found the staff very helpful and the cafe is fairly reasonable for a theatre. Never disappointed when we go. Saw Cinderella at the Shakespeare North Playhouse - what a fantastic show! The whole performance was an absolute joy to watch (take part in as it was a very panto!). I have never experienced a where the performers were able to generate the kind of energy that the actors in this did. It was extremely impressive. The stage set up based on Shakespeare’s Globe is so different to a traditional stage and brings a new dimension to the audience experience. Just brilliant! This must be supported to continue this fantastic work! Went today to watch Cinderella with my Mum & 2 daughters (ages 3years & 6months)… I don’t know who enjoyed it most out of the 4 of us. The cast were phenomenal and I found myself in awe of small details from the cast that you wouldn’t normally notice in a massive theatre. The ushers could not have been more helpful with guiding us to our seats, showing us where different facilities were, even offering to carry the baby changing stuff I needed with me so that I could hold the baby with both arms. The Cockpit itself was stunning! The VR tour doesn’t even do it justice, it’s immaculately clean and the wooden beams are just gorgeous. It feels intimate and rustic but also comfortable and modern at the same time. We will definitely be back! Watched Cinderella it was brilliant. High energy great music something for everyone cast fantastic. The layout is intimate really lovely setting. We will be back merry Christmas! First at the it was great. The venue was small but intimate. The suppprt staff were very supportive and recognised those individuls who need help. The play was light, funny and very interactive with the audience getting involved at every opportunity. A Memerable experience. Thank you for wonderful experience. The new restaurant was gorgeous. Lovely mini plate tapas options, at reasonable prices. Food was gorgeous.. very tasty. With veggie and vegan options. Would definitely recommend and you don't have to be coming to watch a show. First visit tonight. Absoloutley blown away. The place is fabulous, the food was great, the staff so accommodating and catered to my friends vegan needs. The actual was brilliant and the cast were so good, talented and very funny. I could not reccomend the place enough. Excellent value for money and a wonderful place Lovely theatre, incredible staff! We found the seats in the pit didn’t work for us and asked during the interval to move. Staff were quick to help and made the more accessible for us.
