Shadow of a local pub, always empty bar an event, over priced disappointing 😞 pub/restaurant (and we thought we have seen all Northampton's places to eat 😀). The was quiet and cosy, and although we haven't booked in advance, our host was extremely polite and welcoming (he had to accommodate a of ten- unannounced). The food was very delicious and well presented. Dogs are also welcomed (they sell dog treats, too) There are plenty of car spaces Outside terrace (some areas are covered to protect from sun/rain) Toilets are clean and well looked after, too. Everyone loved every single bite of their food! Overall, a pleasant lunch/dinner. Definitely recommend it 💜 Dan the man. Brilliant from Dan made our evening. There is a high speed charging station in the pub's lot (put us from 60-something to almost 100% while we had lunch). Delicious dinner. Staying at a nearby hotel and just found the closest pub I could for tea. Glad I found this one. Kids had chicken tenders and mac'n'cheese, hubs and I had sausage and mash and pie. Came for a mid week dinner, I had the steak, my partner had a burger and our nanna had fish and chips. We were all very pleased, the food was lovely. We were greeted by a gentleman at the door who asked if we had any dietary requirements and showed us to our clean table. was the was great, nothing to fault. After a pleasant in March we decided to have a this Sunday evening We booked a for four. 2 x White Bait starters 1 x Sirloin Steak Medium with chips 1 x Sirloin Steak Medium Rare with Sweet potato fries 2 x Roast Turkey meals 1 x Pint Estrella 1 x Bottle of Fleurie red wine No complaints for the Estrella Fluerie - wine White Bait Steaks - 1 came Medium/well (incorrect) 1 came Medium /rare (on the incorrect plate - we noticed after pouring selected sauce and started to eat) Both was pre-defrosted in boiling water - hence left them very rubbery. Roast Turkey - Both delivered cold, gravy turning into jelly, potatoes and parsnips cold and hard - inedible. The mains took quite a long while to be served, and when served we pointed out the issues as soon as we started to eat. The server acknowledge our complaint, apologised and advised that he would let the manager know. We told the server we would eat what we could, as we had to wait quite some time for the to be served. When we finished eating what we could (managed to eat both steak meals, Turkey we only could eat half of them), we asked for the bill, which was adjusted to meet our complaint - hence the medium score for service. Unfortunately we were held up in traffic, booked for 2pm 4 adults. I rang & said we'd be there by 2.15 which we were. We chose our food & drink, the drinks came fairly quickly but we waited an hour for our food! We were all very hungry. The food was excellent, and hot, very enjoyable cannot fault it. The Oliver family Came here last night the restaurant wasn't that busy we ordered our must say the food was amazing it's just the which was a let down hence the ratings asked for dessert menu from the lady at 8pm and it never arrived so we left and went else where for a desert . Would I go back 🤔not sure . Had a reply from manager asking me to email them I have done so and no reply so definitely won't return. We had a really evening at the Wig & Walnut and I can’t recommend it enough. The drinks and food were but the were awesome and made the whole experience special. Brought my neice and nephew here for lunch as a beginning of Easter treat and couldn’t have asked for a better spot. choices for myself and the kids. Nothing was too much and the waitress made sure that my nieces dairy allergy was well addressed. The kids were entertained with games and food was fast and tasty. Will deffo be returning as I seen they also do music nights so will be gathering the girls for a night out too.
