Always a busy place, Eaglehawk is about 10kms north of Central Canberra just off the Federal Hwy but attracts a crowd for its specialty steaks, which you can choose either chargrilled by the kitchen staff or cook your own on the provided stone grill. Weight options come in either 300/400/600g and you can select between Black Angus Rump, Wagyu, Ribeye or Ribeye Fillet. (Tomahawks which were previously on the menu were unavailable on my most recent visit) The sports bar out back is also good value for a drink either before or after a sit down meal in the restaurant. Recommended. This Mongolian beef is honestly the best I’ve ever had – absolutely amazing! 👍 The beef is tender and flavorful, and the sauce is perfectly balanced with just the right touch of sweet and savory. Highly recommended! The dining environment is great too, getting more lively as the evening goes on. I had the steak, which was served on a sizzling hot stone, definitely a unique experience! The comes raw, and you cook it at your table to your preferred doneness. I had mine medium rare, which is the best way to enjoy a good steak. The portion was generous, and I added shrimp to my order. The fries were delicious, and the overall meal was excellent. Service is straightforward. You order, pay, and wait to be called to pick up your tray with the hot stone, salad, and fries. The place is clean, well-maintained, and has a nice ambiance with music. Free parking is a plus, making it convenient to visit. The only downside is the price, my meal was over $70, which is quite expensive. However, the experience of cooking the yourself and the great taste made it worth it. I was full halfway through but still finished everything because it was so good. If you’re in Canberra, Australia, and want a unique experience, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out! This has to be the best pub I’ve had in a long while. The rib eye was mother watering and cooked to perfection both mention the Dianne sauce Pizza is crazy. Wood fire with big pieces of pepperoni. Must come and try as you will be addicted Not many places do the stone grill anymore. This was superb , I'd almost say this is the best cut of eye fillet I've ever had, sourced in local NSW it is tender, full of flavor and of course you can cook how you like on the stone. Pub is full of energy and a good selection of beers and a great menu. Definitely worth a visit Amazingly great pub grub. Great selection of pizza, steaks, burgers and schnitzels. Love the idea of picking your and cooking yourself on a hot rock. Extra large service sizes and the food is fresh. Amazing food. Delicious and HUGE servings! Decent service and fair price! Definitely stop here on your way through- better than a pie or Maccas!!! We had a wonderful Father’s Day lunch here! The food was absolutely delicious, and the pizza was spot on – full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was lovely, making it a really enjoyable and relaxed celebration.
