Not much to do and see here but it is a great place for resting after a long drive Actually, it's a nice clean lookout. A few of the lookouts in the ACT are very untidy, but this one (just over the border in NSW) was fantastic. Lovely view over George. You can do a short drive down to the George rest area (directly below the lookout) where there are also BBQ and toilet facilities. Fantastic view of George. It's 2025, and is an actual with water. In dry years when the table recedes, the disappears and George becomes a vast grass plain with grazing sheep. It can remain like this for many years. I have seen this place quite many times while traveling between Sydney and Canberra but never stopped until today. Its a great lookout and well maintained. One can park easily and see beautiful landscape. Plenty of space for cars If you're after stunning views of George, I highly recommend this lookout. The is pretty full, which is a sight to see in itself. I watched a mate paragliding the up drafts. Do keep your eyes open for moving shiney sticks. We came across a tiger snake looking for food in the afternoon, but it didn't bother us, and we didn't bother it. I love this place to look out over the lake, to feel the space. If you’re driving from Canberra to Sydney or about to reach Canberra, I strongly recommend taking a break. Breathe in some fresh air and enjoy the wonderful views! 🌿🚗 Nice lookout over a lake. The reflects the blues in the sky, and there are mountains and engineering feats (wind farms) afar. Good for a short stop to rest and revive from a long drive to Canberra. The is impressive and super big so definitely have a stop here. Worth stopping over to see the nature stunning view of George and the windmills. Very relaxing and peaceful Stopped here for a quick rest on my drive from Sydney to Canberra. The view of George is absolutely beautiful and worth the stop on its own. Peaceful, breezy, and a great place to stretch your legs. But what made my visit unforgettable was an unexpected encounter—a red-bellied black snake casually crossing the pavement right next to my car. It was calm and moved away quietly when I approached (at a respectful distance!). A skink also appeared nearby. Felt like nature was putting on a show just for me! So yes, it's a peaceful spot—but stay alert and respectful of wildlife. This is Australia after all! Would definitely stop again.
