I came here to do some photography and and also my dogs on the it’s so quiet and peaceful lovely stretch of clean litter free just perfect This is the end of the river tees there is a wonderful to the right were you can to redcar and saltburn to the left you look over the river tees towards seal sands and the square box of the nuclear power station and upwards to Seaton carrow We parked up in one of the bays in the dunes and went down to the on the left before Paddy's Hole. It was tranquil and deserted. This is a beautiful area. Please visit and respect it. I recommend it if you like a nice coastal walk. Iconic green fishing huts (they are private so please respect that you can't go right up to them) A very nice for a with our pups, ok there not pups anymore but think they are. Make sure you check the tide timetable as we got it just right. But going we check tide time to make sure we had chance to the loverly sandy beaches great place to your dogs or just take a slow on the beach. Thanks M&J As a birdwatcher, this is a great place for sea watching as well exploring the dune system for birds Great place of adventure, quality time with family. No amenities, but still a great place to watch boats go by and fish for sea bass. Nice spot. Respect the area and take what you bring back with you stayed friday night right at the end near the gates i really enjoyed it as its a bizarre place and has a edge to it but its great you can look out over the sea watch the birds and boats then turn and just factories god only knows what they make! a nuclear power station is just a hulk of concrete but a night its all twinkley from the industry its a strange place but love it Nice long with nice sand dunes ideal for adventures for the kids Great for boat watching, and great for overnight campervans. Great place to park up, go for a walk, fish, swim or even paddle board. We visit all year round. My first visit to South Gare - spent a couple of lovely hours here with a friend. Enjoyed seeing Paddy's Hole (where the fishing boats are moored) and the collection of huts to keep fisherman's gear in. Saw lots of sand martens & oyster catchers with their young too. Great for a long dog walk. Needs some dog poo bins though Love this place!! I’ve been visiting South Gare for 4 decades. It’s an amazing location but is being gradually ruined by camper van dossers. The blocking of access to the end of the Gare has also reduced the experience, although the health and safety defence of the owners due to fatalities is understandable.
