First time here, really enjoyed the walk, definitely be back. Looks for dogs. Great café, tasty coffee and sausage bun Fabulous with lots of interesting corners and carvings. Despite the name it is very much not flat at all. Makes for an interesting walk or run for sure! cafe (cake is in the fridge so don't miss it!). Lovely staff and plenty of room inside. Now this place i highly recommend to everyone with kids and dogs. It's fantastic. They have amenities for everyone able bodied and.disabled toilets. A fantastic canteen they do a mean cappucino a selection of hot and cold rolls, lots of soft drinks.and a.selection of sweets. The staff are amazing people also the volunteers who keep the woodlands well kept and looked after. Excellent area for kids grown ups dog walkers and explorers pkace to have a country walk .good play area for the kids and nature centre /cafe very grandaughter loved it Some trees, reminds me of Sherwood forest! I come here quiet often with dave the malinois for dog training & any other dogs I'm training in the area. It's a huge field for obedience training. Especially recall. It's never too busy which is a bonus . Cafe and toilets on site. Play ground for the young guns. You get the odd motor bike tearing through but on the whole its a spot. Gets sunlight most of the day. walks and views. Nice little which links several of the local towns and villages. Some views and plenty of information boards about the insects, animals and plants which can be found there. Free car and circular walk, as there are a number of hills in park, not all areas are easily accessed if less mobile. Nice kids play area and visitor centre with ice creams if open. Really trails to take the dog for walks, people are friendly which is nice to see. This is a lovely place to walk, woodlands are well kept. The centre has a cafe with toilets, books + things for the kids. Worth a visit.. free parking too! Did the run this morning. course, but a bit of a hill twice!! Nice fresh air ,good for dogs An idyllic country park, with spectacular views of the surrounding area. Parking is good, although there are only two disabled parking spaces. Wheelchair access is if you are adept at all-terraining manually or have a powered wheelchair that can handle rough and occasionally muddy flat terrain. Surfaces are varied, with a little tarmac but mostly gravel around the visitor centre, transitioning into compacted earth on the main pathways. If there is rain, the paths may get very muddy and impassable unless on foot. For families there is a playground which was being enjoyed by several families on my mid-October visit. There is also more challenging climbing equipment available for older children. The visitor centre looked well maintained but was shut when I visited on an October weekday afternoon.
