Beautiful well worth a visit park on side of road for free lovely walking ....nice with many excelent views and paths along her coasts👍👍 Love walking alone the it can be so quite depending on where you walk there is honestly so many places to choose we walked both sides up through Stockton’s riverside up yo thornaby across the bridge and back down to Newport bridge it was a really nice 9 mile from door to door think it’s around 5 mile Newport to Newport if you just do this bit The diversity of the Tees is amazing. From it's industrial heritage to the east and stretching through beautiful countryside to the west its banks are rich in wildlife, fauna and flora. We live a field away from its banks as it passes through Mickleton where the Millennium Bridge crosses the water to create a wonderful 6 mile circular route. This can be walked in either direction but we prefer to do it anticlockwise. Starting at the old station carpark (free parking) the Tees Railway Walk is a lovely circular path taking in the busy little village of Middleton-in-Teesdale, where you first cross the river, before returning along the opposite side of the to cross the Millennium Bridge back into Mickleton. A day well spent. The Tees, heart of the industrial revolution for Darlington. It's an amazingly beautiful river, great for a swim in the summer. Best in the north east hands down. Absolutely gorgeous walk along the way. Perfect for just being with your thoughts while you hike My family and I had a lovely quiet walk down by the river. Some is private land but it's not far to access the riverside. Beautiful location. Good river. Meanders and that. Fun in the summer if you have stuff that floats to go on it in. Can pull up at the Bluebell and have a drink if you want. Also can rent a row boat for half hour at Preson Park and have a row about.
