One of the only wetland reserves in south east France. The staff at the visitor centre in the middle of the reserve were very friendly and helpful, with information on the reserve available in both French and English. The visitor centre itself is modern and well equipped (apparently opened in 2020) with exhibitions and reading material covering the reserve’s wildlife (in French), a viewpoint over the reedbeds with binoculars available to borrow, and a refreshment area with a vending machine and toilets. In terms of the actual wildlife it was relatively quiet being post-breeding season, however several Nightingales could be heard, as well as Golden Oriole, Great Reed Warbler, Zitting Cisticola, Sardinian Warbler, Alpine and Pallid Swift.
