A medieval building, one of the oldest, if not the oldest building in Liechtenstein. The tower is not medieval but a 19th century add-on. The Red house has been owned by the same family for over 200 years, since 1807. The name comes from it's colour. As it is private property (and somebody's home), it is not possible to enter. But as there really isn't that much older buildings to see in Vaduz, it was really worth walking here, just to see it from the outside. If you're in the nearby area, might be worth the stop - there isn't necessarily parking anywhere here. It's just a private house, rather picturesque, with the vineyards, stone wall, and mountains, but otherwise there's not to do here. A nice view across to the mountains and castle, good to stop by on way to castle It was nice to go up to the red house. Its nice to visit while in Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 It is a nice thing to see, but only to be seen from the outside, as as most attractions in Liechtenstein, it is not accessible to public... Disappointing. For us nothing at all...(also Liechtenstein) The house itself is nothing special (I don't really understand the significance or popularity) and you can't go inside as it's in use, but the views over Vaduz are worth the trek. Nice house easy accessible from the platform ! The Red House, or "Rotes Haus," is a stunning gem in Vaduz that captures the very essence of this charming capital. Its vibrant red facade stands out against the picturesque backdrop of the Alps, making it a perfect spot for photography and leisurely exploration. Stepping inside, visitors are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Liechtenstein. This beautiful venue not only showcases traditional architecture but also serves as a cultural hub, hosting art exhibitions and community events throughout the year. Engaging with local artists and their works offers a unique insight into the creativity and spirit of the region. The Red House is a place where history and modernity intersect, inviting visitors to connect with the soul of Vaduz. Surrounding the Red House, the quaint streets are lined with charming cafes and shops, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you’re an art lover, a history enthusiast, or simply a curious traveler, the Red House is a must-see destination that beautifully encapsulates the heart of Vaduz. It’s an enriching experience that leaves a lasting impression, making your visit to Liechtenstein truly memorable. Don’t miss the chance to explore this iconic landmark! Visited Lichenstein for a day and a half. Would I recommend it, only if you are a hiker/walker or on a motorbike and want the stamp in your passport. The Red House is just one of many old well maintained buildings. My family stayed for five days, exploring areas nearby, and this region is magical. Childhood dreams to visit here did not disappoint.
