We we t on a sunny and warm long weekend and the terrace was full of other hikers. You have a wonderful view into the Rhine Valley as well as to the Three Sisters. The röstipfanne with bacon and cheese was great and the cheese-sausage salad was fresh and huge. Remember they only take cash. Nice hut to visit. Great food and awesome Panama from mountain in Switzerland. I would give 5 stars if there wouldn't be any ashtrays on table. Nothing worse than people they smoke beside you or when you hike, bike or run up the mountain. There would be lots of space to smoke but not on the terrace. A very nice hike if you’re around Buchs SG. It’s an easy one too if you just follow along the road. Otherwise you might just pant a little with the upwards through the forest. The restaurant has a very nice sunset view and the food is not too bad if you’re a vegetarian but of course you just need to tell them if you need a vegan meal…. Very nice place and friendly owners, good food, after a 1,5h hike from the southern parking at Planken. Cash only! A lovely mountain hut with great views, friendly staff and great food and drink. It was a challenging walk, but it was certainly worth the pain. Beautiful view and comforting food. They even provided vegan option, which was appreciated, although few cheeky comments weren't spared. But it was fun. Food was tasty. Go ahead, try. We just came by for a drink. It was good that we could order immediately. We just didn't like that we had to wait for payment more than 20 minutes (we reminded the waitress 2 times) even though there was no big rush in the restaurant and even then she didn't come so we went to find her and found her smoking and she didn't look even sorry for letting us wait for so long (it even looked like the waiters are making fun of us). We almost missed the bus in Planken due to this long waiting. EDIT after owner's reaction: We paid in cash and we did not insist on paying by card at all. We just asked whether it's possible or not, that's it. There was nothing like a necessity of an online banking transfer. Also, there were just 2 of us altogether and only 1 person was at the toilet but just for a while, it does not justify the length of our waiting at all. lovely place, amazing view and kind staff! we arrived having biked up and were reinvigorated by the beautiful views and great team. would highly recommend!!
