I liked the place because of the stunning not because of the not so special monastery, crappy souvenirs and a typical tourist food/drink shop (3,20 for a cup of coffee) Why the Greeks have decided to place a huge antenna on top of the is beyond comprehension and frankly quite disrespectful if you would ask me. Basically the whole mountaintop is covered in antennas and wires of all kinds, with a dirty diesel generator making a constant noise. Still fun to though! It is a long and steep winding with narrow passages keep that in mind when visiting it. The to get here is very scary. The itself is very small but nice. is free. And obviously the are very good. It is worth getting here for about an hour or two just to enjoy the great in Corfu. The top of the island.. Beautiful to Albania and the rest of the island.. The to get there can be tricky.. The seems degraded..but the church inside is beautiful.. A very unique place.. Wonderful place to visit. Stunning from the top all round the island. The is small, but so beautifully ornate...a special place. I didn’t even know that the was there at the top of the mountain (I hiked for the views). But the “made my day”. Clean, tidy and well looked after One of places where you should when staying at Corfu, but I would say that on clear day only. Sure itself is nice place to look around, but why I went here was to view around. Unfortunately it was last day to me here and could wait for better weather. Luckily there were a few moments when clouds moved away from blocking view. Beautiful views, but the is narrow and when we were riding back it was raining heavily - which made some parts of the route quite dangerous. The locals advised to go via Ipsos (which is a safer route) rather than from the other side - they say, it has a better cover and is no too steep parts (unless you are driving a 4X car) Amazing place, nice energetic around. Small gardens outside and spectacular over to Albania, mainland Greece and Corfu island. is quite small but has beautifully decorated chapel. There was no entry fee. You must it if you are there Its a lovley with amazing features inside. It's a shame about the amount of antenna there is but it's is at the top of the highest mountain with great views. Great little cafe and good prices. A small gift shop also. Went to the top by foot from Nissaki. Took us 4 hours. The were amazing and the nature around even more! The path was asphalt at first, then changed to dirt, then to rocks(that was the hard part) at the end it changed to asphalt again. We were the only ones going to the top by foot, all the other people went there by car. We got caught in a storm few kilometers from the Monastery. The coffee/restaurant at the top saved us at the end! Fantastic of Corfu and Albania. Nice with an impressive interior, area spoilt by all the antennas but suppose that's to be expected on one of highest places on Corfu. Tricky drive on narrow roads to reach the monastery. Stunning view and a nice, calm place to visit. Accessible with a scooter or an ATV too, with a beautiful scenery along the way. The huge tower over the place looks interesting, but doesn’t really fit there. The itself is small but definetely worth the visit. Amazing views! Very nice man in the gift shop. Rather than return via the paved southern route, we opted for the dirt to Paleo Perithia, which is worth the effort. Just go slow and it's fine, even for a rental car. The gravel is very coarse..3 to 10 cm, so just take it easy.
