Amazing historical landmark. In any other place this would be a prime tourist attraction. On Corfu there is a fence around it and you have to be lucky that the grass is cut to get a good view. Not necessarily a negative thing as you can enjoy it in it's simple beauty without to many people or paying prime admission fees. Don't miss the Venetian gate at the back! Old Venetian shipyards, nice but absolutely no historical poster to explain, a pity. Interesting ruins in Gouvia. Worth visiting if you're in the area or passing nearby. No description of the landmark history unfortunately. Easy going, quiet ,clean plus a decent bar close by . There is basically nothing here! Don't make a special trip unless you are majoring in Venetian Boat House architecture. All you can see is a brickwork skeleton of a building. Lovely spot and although it was closed when I visited, it was nice to see while I was in the town. Beautiful setting for a walk out along the beach. Make sure you cover your legs up as it’s very overgrown there and the weeds will get you. Old Venetian shipyard. As in most Corfu historic places not too much context so you have to use your imagination. Somewhat nice to look at but you con only look at it behind a fence. Really interesting history however if you don't read anything other than (Greek or Serbian?) then not a clue what it said on the memorial. Beautiful setting in Gouvia Beach with the bay in front and Albania in the distance. Good to go and see but nothing really special unfortunately. The picture in the brochure was completely different to reality. What a pity Corfu does not give this gem the credit it deserves. You look at it from behind a wire fence. In the UK it would be owned by National Trust, there would be historical context, maybe a model of what it looked like when working, the lives of the workers and the importance to corfu, benches, walks and maybe even gardens. Cmon Corfu. Love your heritage. The place is close but still you can see inside have a stones beach near, very quiet place.
