Great lively town with a large castle dominating the skyline looking up to the town from the beach . Pubs serving lovely food with lovely cold beer . Plenty to do a see , cycle track along the shore and plenty of trekking It was a warm afternoon November with the sun still above the horizon. We made a tour around the town and found this castle and statue of Vasco da Gama. I've heard about him wayback school life but forgot the details. Anyway, the place was nice- a typical summer destination which is visited less by people during year end months. I can say that this place would have been great if the castle was open. We only saw the statue and its walls from the outside. I had so much fun with the statue by the way. Nice beach but water is cold in first of september. The place was very relaxing. You can spend some good time here on the weekend. There is a beautiful beach near the fort A very polite and friendly Person in the ' free entry Museum. Nice long sandy beach, clean facilties on the beach ( nice huts and good rubbish disposal) and lots space. Quiet and calm water.
