My partner and I stayed here for two nights to attend a wedding nearby with another couple. The wedding party rented the entire place for close friends and family. Not only was it the most idyllic location, it was also the most peaceful and comfortable. The entire homestead is so cozy and spacious. The four of us adults stayed in Apartment Timijan. Everything was provided in the little apartment room including basic kitchen tools, dishware, dish washer, mini fridge, stove, wine opener, shampoo, soap, and towels. We didn’t use most of it because the host prepared the most amazing daily breakfast. For €10 per person per day, the host prepared the most beautiful spread with homemade pastries and yoghurt amongst other goodies. I only wished that there were more fruits and vegetables as it was rather meat and dairy heavy. I would 100% recommend this place for visitors and for future personal visits. We stayed here with a bigger group and had a wonderful time. Thank you to the lovely hosts! We especially liked the breakfast which they prepare with local and homemade food. The old farmhouse with thick walls, which cool down the inside in summer, is located in the middle of the Slovenian mountains. But: The big tourist attractions of Slovenia are a bit further away. However, the villages and towns around Hotavlje are also worth a visit. Furthermore I can recommend a hike to the top of the near mountain Blegoš. At the river Poljanska Sora there is a nice swimming spot reachable within 10 minutes by foot from the farmhouse, where you can jump from rocks - good for hot summer days. What can I say - the most warmhearted and hospitable people! When you book accommodation you hope it will be great but every so often you come across something extraordinary. We had an unforgettable stay - Marjetta and Dosan were so good to our kids. The apartment was cosy and the breakfast Marjetta made was amazing. The property is lovely and only 40 minutes drive from Ljubljana, and an hour to Bled. We left feeling like we were part of the family! Hvala! We spent here 6 nights treating the place as the base to travel across famous Slovenian places. The choice was ideal. To every place we had around 40 min -1,5 h travel time by car and for us that was okay. The room was very big and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and in reasonable price comparing to the quality (everything, even bread was homemade by the owners). Our kids enjoyed the place because of horses and cats owns by the hosts. We've been coming back as a group for years, the place, the food and the are simply lovely. We spent a wonderful week at Domačija Tešnak! The house and the surrounding area are beautiful. Our children loved the playground and the vast lawns to run around. And we loved the peace and quiet of being in the middle of nature. Every morning we all looked forward to the delicious breakfast, with so many homemade and local treats! Marjeta and Dušan, together with their daughter Lana are the warmest and most welcoming hosts. Marjeta and Dusan renovated the 400 years old farm house with a great sense to details and made it a special place full of good vibes. The surrounding nature is mind blowing full of forests, hills and mountains and a river just in front of the farm house accompanies the scenery perfectly. The best things to expect are the two Marjeta and Dusan. They definitely love what they do and are super warm hearted persons. Watch out: if you try the homemade jams, bread or the blueberry cake, it is most likely you will get addicted to it.
