We enjoyed a afternoon spa experience here but it was a game of two halves. The Spa area is excellent. Great team looking after you, nice rooms , excellent quality treatments. 5 stars. The main reception of the spa with the cafe, again 5 stars: clean plenty of space to sit and relax , nice coffee and food and the team looking after you is also very welcoming and helpful and provide great service. Then there is the health club side which is where you access the steam room, sauna , pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs and where the changing rooms are and this is where the spa day experience falls apart. This is clearly a very successful and popular health club, to have a full car park mid afternoon on a Friday and the are full to the brim. We struggled to get space in the steam rooms, saunas and hot tubs and the pool also was at about capacity to enable swimming. With health club members , hotel guests and also spa guests they clearly have oversold. It's a shame , because if the spa had its own ( steam, sauna, hot tub) then it could be considered a very high end spa, and offer true spa day experiences , but the fact it shares with the gym and health club side means that it is basically rooms on the side of a gym. Would we come back for - absolutely , would we book a spa day or afternoon here again absolutely not. We used wowcher voucher for spa day - we were quite surprised as we weren’t expecting much. Hotel looks and the restaurant too with good service. The spa was a bit confusing as we weren’t told where to go where to leave clothes nothing about lockers or given towels unless we asked. However were and the lunch too. We didn’t stay too long around the swimming pool as it was very busy No hotel stay. Spa day. Spa were great. hot stone beds and massage as advertised. Rest of the over crowded and.or not working. Cafe was out of lots of ingredients. jacket potatoes came cold. might be ok for normal members, definitely not worth the money or time as day Spa. spa area and a really good but the pool area changing rooms and steam room ect really let's it down it is all shared with gym members and was over crowded and all needs a bit of TLC not at all relaxing as that is what we wanted a relaxing spa afternoon !! It would be if the spa had its own spa pool I would not go back again unless it had a refurbishment. Very friendly staff, really good massage. The spa were good, but it was sooo cold. We traveled here for the day to use a voucher. Wish we had been warned when we booked that the boilers were broken. We came from quite far and it did affect our experience. We left early as mum wad cold, however would return when it’s fixed. Great spa treatments. Very friendly and accommodating. Great amount of things to do with use of the facilities. Cafe on site is a nice touch but didn’t have time to use unfortunately. Had a day here. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax for the day I was given a for my birthday. Kayleigh was my therapist. She was amazing, and made me feel very comfortable. The itself was brilliant. Hot stone massage, never had one, would definately go back to Kayleigh again for another. I feel so chilled. Brilliant place too Was really looking forward to this spa day with my mother in law. Though we had a nice time together, we was extremely let down but the outdated facilities. Luke warm jacuzzies and sauna was no warmer than 40 degrees... I've been I'm warmer countries and could have easily sat I'm there for an hour! Steam room was and hot though so we mainly used this. Massage was good, though I had 2 masseuses? 1 for my back and one for my legs and arms. My back massage was but arms and legs was a big disappointment. The massage was also disrupted as they thought they had my and mother in laws booking mixed up, so was no longer relaxed. Cafe staff not the most pleasant and it was a shared cafe, very strange to sit in with your robe on... I must say. Unfortunately, I would not return and feel like my money was completely wasted.
