We attempted to go to the wanky sunset bar on the steps overlooking Ragusa Ibla. We were weirdly turned away/ignored despite there clearly being seats and cushions for us to sit on. In our search for an aperitivo, we ended up at So. And thank god for that. Welcomed by Ibu with a smile, we were made to feel at home straight away. Had a great Campari spritz and lots of snacks to tide us over until dinner. Live band (every Wednesday) was setting up as we left for dinner, and frankly we didn’t want to leave but we were really hungry. We resolved to come back later that evening and as we ate dinner down the road we could hear the band and felt ‘So’ pulling us back. We turned back up there at about 10 and there were no seats outside, but Ibu told us to sit with him and his friend, remarking that “we are in his home”. We ended up staying till after midnight and had the best night. He even got on the mic with the band which was an absolute hoot! Definitely don’t miss this place for a drink in Ragusa!!
