We recently visited Courtyard Escapes in Stourbridge and tackled the Circus theme room. It was an absolute blast! The puzzles were engaging and the atmosphere was spot on. I don’t want to give too much away and spoil the fun, but trust me, it’s worth experiencing. We’re excited to hear they have a new coming in October and can’t wait to come back and try it out. Highly recommend! Its very unassuming from the street, tucked down an ally behind the main high street where you wouldn't ever think to look without the instructions for finding the venue (park at the Tesco or the nearby council carpark). Once you get in and up the stairs however, the staging area is beautifully decked out (see photo). The staff are extremely friendly and talkative and its clear that they enjoy their work. We did the Chocolate Factory as a group of 2 adults 1 9 year old child. The puzzles are age appropriate - some maths, some logic, some hidden object and of course, the obligatory locks, keypads and buttons. We found it quite challenging to complete, though much of it was from our own errors and things like mis-counting. Chocolate Factory is formed of 3 small 'room' areas and a connecting corridor. I would suggest that a full group of 6 may find themselves a little squashed. There is nothing fearful or concerning in this at all and a well behaved younger child would likely be content to be involved. Lockers are provided for your personal effects, as you are not permitted to take things into the rooms. I was not asked to remove my smart watch (but mine isn't capable of taking photos). I don't know if the normal policy would be to ask you to do so however! Speaking to the two hosts after our experience, its to hear that the venue already has plans, both for expansion and 'refreshing' their offerings. We will certainly be back for the second once we have an adult group! I would consider the value for money - the total cost for our group being about double what a cinema visit would have cost us (before popcorn ......) and considerably more 'involved' - its amazing how fast that hour goes! First in an room. It was fun, well organised. Would definitely go again. We had a rare morning together as our daughter was in nursery and decided to do an room. We booked online a few days before and decided to try Lockdown. It's definitely one of the best we've done (we've done about 15) and worked quite well as a group of two. I can see it being easier with more people but we really every aspect of it. It was just the right amount of challenging and everything made sense unlike other we have tried. The host Ben was and on hand to help when we asked for clues. We'd definitely book another here. Kids it but it was more difficult than expected for 3/5. Host was really friendly and warm. Some of the locks could do with being explained or labelled as 1 we wasted even though it was correct. Cute set up though and we had fun as a 4. Took my 2 nieces along on Wednesday. Had struggled to find one that allowed from age 7 minimum, most were age 8. They both really it, it was a little tricky but Charlie our games-master provided occasional clues when we needed. It was a really fun set-up, lots of unexpected twists and the ending just hilarious 👍🏻 Would highly to all! Booked for a birthday on 4th Jan 2025 for 13year old stepson and 3 friends. They really the Lockdown and the team were ensuring they had plenty of hints as it was challenging at their age. They all want to go back to try another room. We visited today with my son and 4 of his friends for his 9th birthday! We had the gold package which was as everything was taken care of, we just had to turn up with a cake (take a lighter for candles as they aren't allowed to supply one). We attempted the 'The Show Must Go On' and the kids were close to escaping (with a little help 😉 ) but didn't quite manage it. We will definitely be back with our other children for parties and as a family too. My only (tongue in cheek) suggestion would be a small alcoholic drink ready at the end, for the unsuspecting adult trapped in a with the kids if you're doing a party, I know I needed one! 🤣 Came as a 4 for my friends birthday, was fun and challenging in sections too. Paige the host was amazing and very friendly/welcoming too. We enjoy trying different and this one was a experience, would anyone to give it a try! Well worth it. Excellent room, was more difficult than we expected which made it fun! Really helpful staff too. The only issue we had was finding the place as there was minimal signage and it was down an alley way. This was a really fun even for our youngest family member who was 6. The puzzles were well thought out and had us quite perplexed at times. Will be returning 100% today doing The show must go on . 2 adults and 3 children age 8,9 and 12 , thoroughly by all. Great which kept everyone entertained and guessing right until the very end . A big shout out to our games master Charlie who made the fun , explained everything and made the kids chuckle 😃 . We will definitely be returning . We came here for a work's Christmas outing. I did phone before booking (as I had questions and adaptions), and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The reception area is up some stairs. There is also a toilet, coat hooks and a bench up there. Everything is nice and clean. You are encouraged to leave bags in the lockers up stairs, in the reception area (if there are 6 of you in a room, all with bags, this will restrict you as there really isn't for all of you and your bags. That being said, there were 6 of us in the and I never felt like it was cramped). The lockers don't lock but there are staff members in reception. As we had booked out both we felt comfortable leaving our belongings in the lockers. Everything is explained clearly before you go into the room. You are given a walkie-talkie before entering your chosen and there is help on hand, should you need it. Even though we didn't manage to escape, we did have the best time! We will be looking into booking in again for our next work event. I will definitely be coming back with the family. First doing an and the 3 of us really it. Managed to The Show Must Go On with just over 3 minutes to spare. We had to use some hints though. Will definitely return to try another room. Charlie was a host. Really helpful and explained everything clearly. Very fun and challenging! I hope they look to add more games or change them v soon too so we can return again! We booked this for our daughter’s 9th birthday with 4 of her friends. We all had a blast, the games master Paige was really helpful and fun. The clues were at a level, not too hard but I think the kids would have struggled without an adult present. I would highly recommend. Absolutely brilliant afternoon at the we had a day it was such fun would highly it to anyone. We were welcomed really nicely and looked after very well. They have lockers to leave all your personal belongings in the staff are very friendly explained how the games worked in detail. Me my daughter and her friends had a & will 100% be returning there to do another room. Had a lovely with the family. Kids really it and we got out with 6 minutes to go! Incredibly nice staff-definitely would to others. experience, polite and helpful customer service from our host Ben. We will definitely be coming again to other rooms. Better puzzles here than other places we've tried. Such a fun family outing. Staff are really friendly and encouraging our game master was Paige. The the show must go on was for the kids and we all had a fab Did archibalds legacy and found it very enjoyable. Thanks for the amazing experience!! Game master Jorja was amazing! Fun day.
