Las Chorreras

Faraján, Spain Tourist attraction

One of the Best Places To Visits in Faraján Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. It took 2 hours for our family with stops, short picnic, climbing to second waterfall. You may meet a big dog, dont be scared, he's friendly. Place is 💯 worth to visit!!! Beautiful Nice little hike (steep) to a waterfall and a little cave, passing by some nice fruit trees while enjoying the views into the surrounding hills. Just follow the sign in town(close to the church there is a little road going down) and on the trail. You basically can't go wrong as all junctions either lead you to a privat farm/garden or towards the waterfall. Don't follow Google Maps to reach the waterfalls. It will lead you down a small road that turns into a steep gravel road and justs ends on the wrong side of the valley. Believe me you do not have no chance to reach the waterfalls there. Go to the village Farajan and park somewhere. Close to the market place you will find the sign which leads to small road that you can walk to reach the waterfalls in about 2 km. Really nice and worth a visit. Almost passed out while walking the trail. We parked in Faraján village square & the walking route from there is clearly signposted. Mostly circular walk of approx 3km took about an hour. Need to be reasonably fit & mobile for this walk to be enjoyable as the path is uneven & there are very steep sections. We walked 9-10am & the temperature was perfect - but much of the route is shaded so later in the day would likely be fine too. Lovely to pass through some terraced ‘allotment’ type smallholdings and see how they channel the water through their terraces. Also saw my first ‘wild’ avocado trees & brought a windfall home to try! Waterfalls were a bit of an anticlimax to be honest - the first one was the most impressive (video). I wonder if the farmers were channelling so much water onto their crops today that the second had become more of a hearty drip than anything more impressive!? That said it was a nice short, if steep, walk & if you’re in the area & like seeing a bit of the countryside then I’d recommend. The route signposts brought us back to the starting point without any problem & there’s a cafe in the village square too.
