I got the Strawberry 🍓 tart. Looked and it was good. The base could use some more work. Overall 3.5 stars for the food experience. A wide variety of pastries, from tarts to to eclairs. They also have savories like croissants, quiche and sandwiches. There's also a small retail corner selling their house chocolates. Couldn't decide between the Tartlette Citrone and Coffee Eclair, so I got both in the end. Not usually an eclair fan but I saw raving reviews of it. It's a fair size for the price (€4.50), the coffee cream was good, I wished they went easy on the caramel on top of the puff. I enjoyed the Lemon Tart, a balance of sweet and sour in a buttery tart base. They close early at 6pm, in fact from 5-ish, I saw them turning away dine-in guests but you can still buy as takeaway. Beautiful place, refined and relaxing place. We went mid afternoon so we were lucky that there were only 2 other tables with people. There was no ticketing system when we went, (as per other reviews, they probably removed it for now, thankfully) and if I read the reviews before going, I would probably have skipped this place. The spoke French and with my little French and hand gestures, we were able to communicate the ordering and paying system. We tried their reislingspaschteit or pate in a baked bread roll, the orange loaf bread and their plum tart. All were ok, not outstandingly great and not enough for me to return but happy that I tried at least. Also had the Roude Petz and it was very sweet. I bought a pack of madeleines for take away but I haven’t tried them yet. Hope the madeleines are as as they look. Beautiful and pastries, the display offers their customers a lot of variety. So fresh and good! Nice coffee too, but hot chocolate is a bit light but if you like smooth hot chocolate, you’ll like it :) There are also chocolate/cookies to buy back home. Incredible experience! We're big fans of patisserie and we tried different kinds of tarts and pastries. The flavours did not disappoint. The matcha and coup de cœur ones were especially tasty. By the way, the price for takeout is cheaper than eating in the cafe. My chicken salad was very and generous portion. Only thing is, it came fried chicken instead of grilled which was mentioned in the menu. My friend had the omelette and the portion was enough for two ladies to share. Hot chocolate is thick and delicious. We came back for their at tea time and it was a delight. Do note it gets crowded during tea time. I spent ages trying to decide which pastry to get because there were so many interesting ones. I opt for the salmon puff and the pistachio brulle.
