We stopped here for a coffee break during late afternoon while exploring black forest, but ended up having some food. Both coffee and food were good, along with a quick service. Ideally located on the main road offering beautiful view, it’s a lovely place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely recommended for a quick break or a meal. It was a great decision to stop there for an early dinner and a little rest after driving for hours on the mountainous roads of Baden. We totally enjoyed it. The food was well prepared and tasty. The lady of the gasthof was so kind, friendly and attending. There are many choices for steaks and schnitzels and various classic and local recipes. They did serve us a personal seasonal salad before the main dish. If we ever be back to the region we would definitely revisit Landgasthof Waldrast! We had a great conversation while I had a beer at the restaurant late on a Sunday. I had forgot to print tickets to an event and Kevin allowed me to use their office printer. Saved a ton of frustration at the event. Highly recommend staying here! Booked as a stopping point on the way back to the UK it was a great choice. The hotel is at a cross roads in the Black Forest but there was no noise in the night. The room was very comfy and the breakfast was great. The highlight was the evening meal in the restaurant onsite. When you stay in the middle of nowhere with only one eating option you hope it was and this one was. The restaurant was very busy which was a sign. It had a range of food including some seasonal mushroom options which were delicious. An all round stay. We never stayed in the hotel part, but go there for lunch on a regular basis. If you like to sit outside, prepare for some traffic noise, as it's directly on an important connecting street - which means it's very to reach with a lot of free parking space, too. I often eat here with my wife. The food is very and the service is top notch. There are two downsides. One is that since the renovation it often gets too hot in the dining area. The second is the location, very nice in Schwarzwald but unfortunately on a busy road which makes eating outside less attractive.
