Stunning and beautiful place! The sights of the mountains are marvelous, and there's a lot of things to do in this general area. It's quite touristy, but it's definitely worth going if you want to see something amazing. I recommend taking a here, because there's a station in the middle of the busy area of this place. What to say about the Parc Natural de Montserrat? There aren't enough words allowed on this review to say everything we feel about our experience. From the ride up to the ride down, this was certainly an experience we didn't want to end. There is something for almost everyone, such as hiking for adventure seekers; a huge gift shop to get your shopping on; many amazing picture spots for those who love to take pictures There is a children's playground in the town of Montserrat itself, by one of the hotels. It has structures for younger and older children. We saw two sets of public restrooms in excellent condition. The smallest and third, option, is at the upper end of the Funicular of Sant Joan, and it's just one stall for both women and men. Many dogs of different sizes can enjoy the natural park. You can certainly find some great stops to have a picnic, such as one with amazing views, while on the way to the Ermita de Sant Joan. Now, the most impressive feature of Montserrat is the Monastary, and all the areas within it you can visit, with the Basilica being the most important one. I highly recommend it!!! This is an amazing national park only an hour away from Barcelona on the train. I highly recommend taking a day trip here, I only wish we had more time to explore some of the incredible walks in the area. I went with my friend to this adventure, we rode the cable car which picked us to the top of the mountain , the views were breathtaking, walking around for shopping and getting some food and visiting the church all these activities can be done when you are on top of this mountain The trip is highly recommended. Magnificent place. We took the rack railway to the monastery and then the funicular to the Sant Joan. I only wish we could have more time to enjoy the walks up there, so it is recommended to visit early in the morning and check the rack railway timetables if you are planning to use them, as they go only hourly from and back to Barcelona (in January). Absolutely stunning. We took the cable car to the monastery and the funicular to the top (it’s not cheap but the views are stunning). Plenty of easy to walk paths for casual Walker as well as some more challenging routes. We took the shorter route up the top of mountain that housed a small church and settlement but can also do a longer hike to the tallest peak in the range. 5 year old son and 10 year old daughter just about managed the trickier bits of the path. Monastery is amazing place. Would highly recommend a day trip there if you’re in the area. A breathtaking place. It literaly rises up from the surrounding landscape so that you can see it for kilometers. The monestary on top is also beautiful. Its even better if you take the train/tram to the monestary. The views are breathtaking and the Mountain is so high that you can even see the pyrenees. Its a shame that the last from the top goes down about 17:00. This place should be enaugh to justify a trip to catalonia . We visited in April 2023 and it was well worth the effort to go. Took the from Barcelona, took cable car up & cog wheel back down. Amazing views! Our trip was pretty brief, and though we didn't, you can make a day out of it depending on how ambitious you want to be hiking.
