We booked online. When we arrived at 6:35pm we found out, that the reception was already closed (no mention of the opening hours anywhere during the booking). The staff at the restaurant tried to help us, but was clearly not properly trained/informed and also very busy (they were super nice though). They weren't able to open the gate for us. After some time we were informed we had to wait 1h until some manager was supposed to arrive. We found out ourselves that adding our license plate to the online booking system opened they gate for us. The campground was mostly dirt and stone, worst we have seen in France so far. The only upside were the clean bathrooms, although there were a 5 min walk away. If you are doing classic camping (not an RV or renting a mobile home), stay away from this place! Few grips here. We were in a campervan and had a fairly small pitch with little more than a small tree for a tiny bit of shade, only about half the site is in the pine trees. Also it’s not in a great location. It’s just off the dual carriageway near industrial part of town with which comes with noise and you have to travel by car to local towns or hiking area. We visited Cannes etc by night, but got locked out 1 night, as past the midnight curfew. Not sure why you get given codes for the security gate if shut completely. Lastly, it’s almost 100% Dutch, which feels a bit weird in southern France. Maybe my fault tbh as didn’t realise when booking, but like to mix with a blend of nationalities when camping. Showering facilities were top notch though Last year we camped with RCN on the Atlantic coast and were very satisfied, so this year we chose the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, this site felt much more crowded with little privacy. It’s very much a teenager campsite, which shows especially at the pool. Groups of teens kept jumping in and splashing everyone, and when I addressed it, the lifeguard couldn’t manage the situation and even suggested I sit elsewhere. The facilities themselves are great – clean sanitary blocks, nice pool, and good restaurants – and the location near the coast is excellent. But in high season it’s noisy, busy, and hard to relax. Maybe nice outside peak season, but definitely not again in summer.
