Staying in downtown Athens, it was a trek to get to Ellinikon Park. We took the metro to the end of the line and walked 20 minutes there and back. It was doable, but a lot of walking for little in the summer heat. Once we arrived, we spent some learning about the development on the site of the old airport. This part was inside a restored hanger. It was very interactive and free, but my eight-year-old daughter was sad you have to be 14 to try the bike and boat as part of the experience. There is a cafe and restrooms inside. Outside is a large enclosed with a zipline, sand pit, swings, and more. My daughter loved this park, but really loved the splash pad across the path. We got soaked for an hour until they turned it off. We were invited to an event for the people of Africa. It was very moving and emotional. The venue was very nice and accessible, and it showed a modern aspect of Greece. This is a free to the public near the southern suburbs of Athens (where the old was located) you can bring your entire family even your 4legged one and have fun😊.. my favorite to visit it during Christmas. It majestic with the festival of all the colorful Christmas lights Very nicely organized, small park, with a dancing set of fountains, where children can enjoy running between the unanticipated gushes of water, a children's playground, outdoor exercise installations, snack and ice cream stations, wc/toilets, parking and -- naturally -- professionally and expertly tended plants. The flora consists of almost exclusively specimens that are native to the area, including aromatic herbs and flowers. Exceptions are some preexisting trees, such as eucalyptus, which is native to Australia. Very nice children playground, water attractions and the of the furure neibourhood. All for free It's a glimpse to the future, but it is not implemented the way it should. There should be people showing and explaining things at all the spots. Not one or at the most two people, trying to fill in the gaps. The children is great with games ahead of everything I've seen in Greece. The place should have a huge cafeteria with a view to the sea. An amazing experience, honestly it's something that someone should visit and see how the project is set to expand on its development making the whole area entering the spotlight!!! Lots of parks, lakes, beach resorts, malls and casinos are going to be build in the next years and the virtual tour gets you so excited on what's to come. At the moment it's an amazing that really enjoy, with water fountains, rope games and cafes!! It's worth to spend some there when visiting with kids!! Is a very nice modern in the old of Athens. Went there at dusk and the water fountain played “that’s Amore” a a song from the 50s while creating different water patterns to the beat of the song. When you walk across with the water splashing around you but you are not getting wet it’s just fantastic. I saw the rest of the just before they were closing and it was already dark but I feel that’s the perfect to go as the way things are lit up is very artful and it makes them look like they are floating. I really want to go back at another to see if the magic persists throughout the day. Some big money developers want to develop the land left over from the old airport. They built this modern little on a tiny little part of that land along with a pavilion as a PR play. In a nutshell they want to build it out the area like one of the big projects in Dubai, or China, where it's a mix of houses, condos, retail, business towers on an enormous scale, creating self contained city. The exhibits go into how it will be environmentally friendly, futuristic, and so on. Part of the pavilion allows people to arrange deals to lease the new condos, yacht harbor slips, and business spaces that will be created at some point in the future. On one end it's a modern little with things to do for young such as one of those fountains that sprays while your run around inside. On the other a place for adults to be pitched a condo while their play. The road into this "park" snakes around for a couple kilometers, making it difficult to get to. As a tourist, I regret going here. I assumed it was a museum about the historic old airport, which its not. What an of beautiful places to discover. A fully of history and what is going to be modern. A place fully of of fun and so much to learn. A fully of modern technology. The area that opened to the public on Monday is a 70,000-square meter portion of the 2 million-square meter that will be part of massive development on the capital’s southern coast. The mini-park is open daily from 5 to 10 p.m., with free parking and admission, and has several fun features, including an outdoor gym and a playground, as well as food trucks for snacks and beverages. It also has some 500 trees and 55,000 plants. We recently hosted a party at The Ellinikon Park, and it was absolutely fantastic! The itself is stunning — beautifully designed, clean, and full of open green spaces that made the atmosphere feel relaxed yet vibrant. The event was very well-organized, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. We’ll definitely be back! The is nice, but if you are not with a car, it will be a struggle to get there. It is actually a part of large construction site. Definately not worth of traveling almost 1h from city centre for it. In few years, it will probably be more attractive. We visited the Ellinikon with the family and had a great time. The is very clean, beautifully designed, and perfect for a relaxing walk. The loved the and fountains, and it felt safe and welcoming. It’s a lovely spot to spend a few hours outdoors without leaving the city.
