Open-air museum of Łowicz's Folk Culture
Łowicz, Poland Museum
One of the Best Places To Visits in Maurzyce Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. This open-air ethnographical museum takes the visitor back to the pre-industrial times when the peoples' daily life was depending on the outcome of the daily struggle with the earth. The museum offers the opportunity to see the old homes of the villagers and imagine how life was back then. Various daily home appliances, machines for working the earth and various objects are displayed inside the old houses (chatas) portraying the life of the 'chłopi'. I would like to see more written material and text about the houses and the social context of these times in order to have a better understanding of the expositions. Bardzo przyjemny spacer, warto zwiedzić. Amazing place. The history of the Polish village so well preserved. It's a really good opportunity to show your kids how their grandparents used to live. I recommend this place for a nice escape from the city with your family. Went there because we had some time on the way to Poznan. The place met expectations as we could see how people in 18-19 centuries lived in Polish villages. Too bad we could not eat there because only cash was accepted. Byłem drugi raz i nieco zawiodłem się wyprowadzonymi zmianami i pracami remontowymi. Wszystko świetnie utrzymane, ale na jedno kopyto. Betonowe wylewki na podłogach chałup niemiło zaskoczyły. Very nice skansen with a huge potential to have twice more objects than actually. Can't wait to come again and see more new huts. An amazing experience. A complex of very colourful houses. There is also a little church you can visit and a small hut with gifts to purchase. This felt like stepping back in time to how the indigenes lived in the past and captured vividly. This open air museum is a must-see. Mixed feelings. I visited few skansens in Poland, and this one located maybe in most beautiful area - trees everywhere among houses, sandy roads in the village etc. Buildings looks very authentic. Kosciol is just gorgeous. BUT: vast majority of rooms are closed by the cage doors and you can only look inside like you are in the zoo. Yes, I understand that you are afraid of vandalism, but in other skansens you either allowed to go inside with guide, or those rooms are open. Furthermore, the information about buildings is very brief, to say at least (when it was built and what is it, basically). Only in Polish, no English (I do read Polish, but I assume there could be foreign tourists, no?). There is also some technics like firetrucks from different eras with ZERO information at all. Tiny collection of some historical carriages is located behind cage door :) For some reason, cafe in the "village" is equipped with plastic, ridiculous patio umbrellas (branded, of course!) which completely ruin the view of old, authentic village. Why?? Overall impression: great heritage, and close to zero interest of management to share knowledge about it. Which is sad, because I believe such regional Polish village traditions are very interesting and beautiful. If you are from Belarus and now it is impossible for you to go to countryside where your granny lives - this is an amazing alternative. The food in local cafe is 10/10 Really interesting to view a large collection of traditional style buildings from the area. Good to see the collection has grown since our first visit in 1997. One of the best museums I've visited. A calm and peaceful place. They allow to take a dog with you, but be prepared to pay for an extra ticket :) Warte uwagi miejsce, super wycieczka. Polecam Można zwiedzać w swoim tempie. Tanie bilety, dobrze utrzymane. Warto wziąć słuchawki, żeby słuchać audioprzewodnika z telefonu Świetnie miejsce do spacerowania dla każdej grupy wiekowej. Darmowy parking pod skansenem, obiekt dostosowany częściowo dla osób niepełnosprawnych i niewidomych Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
