Great learning opportunity and inviting for young and adults! Supported with the University of Liege, you’re guaranteed to learn something and discover new or bugs! Well design and fun to interact, interactive stations. Cheap entrance (4-6 euros per person), plan to stay 90-180 min depending on weather. The exterior also has a nice larger garden with interactive stations and a picnic area. Would love to have offers for short guided tours, even 20 min brief for to familiarize themselves and help them get then most out it. Their stage seems great! Free parking. Bring a picnic, not many restaurants nearby. Excellent museum, I don't understand why it was empty, it was Sunday, free admission, but people prefer to drink in bars or lie on the couch at home, they are so lazy to go there and see something interesting and educational, parking right in front of the entrance, toilets available, clean, calm, relaxing atmosphere, lots of educational panels and many, many, many live bugs, even a few cheap but useful souvenirs, the is amazing, I definitely recommend visiting, Cons: very kind man at the reception, but he didn't speak English, also the labels in the are not in English Not open en reservation obligatory Nice place to go with the We had a great time with our kids. Museum is completely new. There are a lot of to discover and I really liked the decors, especially in the dark rooms. looked well taken care of. Some room for improvement; written text during the tour is french only, so for adults a basic knowledge in french is needed if you want to understand the info they give (our liked the tour even though they can't read yet). Staff informed us they were working on a audio guide for dutch/english/.. for the near future. Very nice garden in the back, might use some idea's for my own garden. Stages our aged 6-8 enjoyed an hour here very much. They don't understand French but loved searching for the in their terrariums and looking at the explanatory signs. We picked blackberries in the garden, delicious. A coffee would have been nice for the parents ;) we walked to the and back through the large Geer's park. (Signs pointing to the would have been nice.) For 5 and 4 adults we paid approx 50€ for the tickets. If you like do not come here because you will be massively disappointed. The are in rotting, mould filled, tiny, overrun vivariums. Some don’t even have food or water and the are just dead on the bottom. At least 5 millipedes in a tiny viv with less than an inch of substrate, 100s of stick in a small viv no food or water, Isopods with rotting cucumber, no leaf litter or water, no springtails to clean up, dead beetles and lady birds just left at the bottom of vivs no food or water, 60 moth cases with no room for wings to expand so they end up deformed or fall to the floor where they die, large mantis in tiny tubs, the list goes on and on. Whoever is supposed to be looking after them should be ashamed of themselves and needs to be educating themselves on proper care for these creatures. Complete disregard for life which has left me quite angry as I was very excited to visit this place. AVOID ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF AND THEIR HUSBANDRY!! Please don’t show children this is how creatures should be cared for.
