The view is really impressive, it is possiblle to see most part of the mine and different mechanisms, but on the weekends probably most of them will be still. Far away there are three plants that produce a lot of smoke, which add atmosphere. Take some binoculars or camera with good zoom. Unfortunately it is quite hard to get here - take the first turn to the right when you are at Am Tagebau road and follow almost circle around the railroad, verify way with maps - there is no pointers, but anyway all other roads are closed with signs "Do not enter".
