They’d take order, accept money. And then instead of giving you what you ordered start doing something else. I’m standing there waiting for 10 minutes. Then I ask them to just bring it they start saying it’ll be five euros to bring it. Really? Such low quality people work here. I’d say ok can I have what I ordered then. And only after I say that they actually start moving. Otherwise what I’d still be standing there. Logic, anyone ? This was the most overpriced and least relaxing we had at any in Puglia or Salento. There are three of us. We paid 106 euros for two sunbeds, one umbrella, a chair and a towel which was located several rows from the water. Elsewhere, we got another sunbed, another umbrella, and three towels for much less than that. The lido is on a strip of the public with no separation except a short bamboo fence so you have all of the public in the and no seclusion despite the steep price. The swimming was unpleasant -- debris (bottle caps) and food floating in it. We avoided the hefty parking fee and decided to walk to town for lunch. We regret going to Lido La Castellana and not traveling further north for the day. UPDATE: The owner says in a snarky reply that I left two reviews. This is false. This is the only teview I posted. I will also clarify that the lido is adjacent to a public and the is not roped off. Therefore, everyone is swimming together -- the public enjoying the for free and those paying over 100 euros. The prices may be advertised but what you get for those prices is deceiving. We visited this lido for the day...the ONLY good thing about it was the (which you can find amazing all around pugli. Recommend you find another lido. Service waa terrible , they didn't explain you need to reserve a table for or where the Services are location. The sun disappeared by 1230 and you don't get any sun on the unless you're on th first line of chairs. We asked if we could move as the was empty 80% of the were vacant...they said no. was SO expensive for what you get 100% skip this lido find somewhere else. We were prepared to pay the premium price, but expected a more enjoyable experience. The is located right next to the public beach, offering little to no sense of privacy despite the cost. The are placed so close together—maybe just two feet apart—that it feels uncomfortably crowded, as if you’re right on top of each other. I really can’t believe how they justify their prices at this club. Additionally, to not have towels or parking included in the price is crazy. Absolute tourist trap. We had a nice at this lido. Reserve in advance as they require 48 hr notice. Even on a holiday not all were full. We had a spot on the front row. The is lovely. Food was great 4/5. Had the crab spaghetti. The service was a bit slow. We ordered other items but after waiting 20 min decided to get up and check out. The waiters do not serve you at your chair so you need to go to the bar to things. Restrooms and changing rooms very clean. Highly recommend if you want a spot you can walk to easily from anywhere in town that’s not crowded and has food and drinks. It is pricey but we felt worth it. Avoid this if you can. I went there on September 3rd with my husband and had a negative experience. It is too expensive for what it is and you receive barely any service, not even good service. The has a rude demeanor and don’t even look happy to be there themselves. We were checked in by a gentleman who asked us if “two others” are joining us, we said no it’s just us and he smirked with us colleague and said “Yes two others means just two people”. Where I’m from that would mean a group of four but all good. They charge you for towels and parking which is absurd because you’re already paying over $200 euros if you a proper lunch. We wanted to the lobster spaghetti as it was noted on the menu (minimum 2 people) and looked like the best price for value at $32 euros. Our server said we couldn’t have it that day but said we can swap the lobster for shrimp and spaghetti for a different pasta. My husband said no problem because we thought we were still getting the $32 euro price. Thank goodness I checked the menu and realized he essentially made us agree to another pasta dish on the menu costing $34 euro a plate but times two. The transparency in that moment felt very slimy and the server was annoyed when my husband told him to pause that right now because he wasn’t honest with us. Also, we ordered the mussels and they didn’t even clean the mussels properly - see photos. The are dirty, restaurant are also dirty so when you’re eating you just want to eat and leave right away. The on the other hand is beautiful, however it doesn’t feel like a private because there’s public ones beside you using your beach. I’m not one to be bothered by that but due to the price you’re paying for “premium” you feel like the other visitors paying nothing are getting the same experience. Long story short, just go to another club. I’ve spent my summer vacations at Lido La Castellana twice now, and it’s become a truly special place for me. I really appreciate the overall vibe of the – classy, quiet, cosy, and a bit niche. One thing I absolutely love is the absence of loud music from portable speakers, which I often find really irritating on other beaches. Another thing I noticed is that many of the visitors seem to know each other – it almost feels like a real club, with a warm and friendly community. The itself is spotless – both the sand and the crystal-clear are well maintained. The care about what they do, and it shows in every detail. A special bravi goes to the restaurant – the food is amazing, and the portions are like double-sized, really! For me, it’s the best food in Otranto. My favourite dish is paccheri with yellow tomatoes and gamberi🤤🤤🤤 There’s also a great selection of local Pugliese wines, and the service is always kind and welcoming. I’m always happy to come back💖 My wife, our 1.5-year-old son, and I visited Lido La Castellana hoping for a relaxing day at a premium club, but the was unfortunately spoiled by unprofessional management and a generally unwelcoming atmosphere. We arrived right at opening time, around 9 a.m., and secured a lovely set of sunbeds on the lawn near some trees. Wanting a shaded spot for our son to nap during lunchtime, we asked the receptionist if we could set up our small tent in the shade. He was perfectly fine with it and even helped us reserve a table right next to our chosen spot. Everything started wonderfully. A few hours later, our son fell asleep in the tent, and we sat down for what we hoped would be a peaceful lunch—a rare treat for parents of a toddler. This is when the day took a turn for the worse. A woman, who appeared to be a manager, began loudly and aggressively yelling at the young lifeguards right in front of our son's tent. When I identified myself as the owner of the tent, she turned her tirade on me, shouting, "This is not acceptable!" I understand that there might be a rule against tents, which is precisely why I had confirmed it with the member who set us up. The manager's handling of the situation was completely out of line. She created a scene instead of discreetly speaking with her to clarify the situation or politely explaining the rules to us. Ironically, she ended up allowing the tent to stay while our son slept, which means the entire unpleasant confrontation was unnecessary. The peaceful we were so excited about was ruined, and the negative vibe she created lingered for the rest of our stay. We even contemplated leaving right then but decided not to miss the rare chance to eat while our son was asleep. Beyond this main incident, other aspects of the were underwhelming: Service: There was no service at the sunbeds. Furthermore, they don't run a tab, so every single water, beer, or coffee had to be paid for separately, which was quite inconvenient. Price: The prices are very high. We paid €60 for a set of sunbeds in the shoulder season, located far from the front. The was also very expensive and, while not bad, certainly did not justify the cost. Staff: With the exception of a friendly young woman setting the tables and the receptionist, the rest of the were not particularly friendly or welcoming. The manager's habit of constantly and loudly ordering her employees around seemed to have a negative effect on the entire team's morale and the club's atmosphere. The Beach: On a positive note, the itself is small but pleasant and sandy, with some good snorkeling opportunities if you swim around the rocks. We had noticed a number of negative reviews before our visit and were hesitant to go; now we understand why. We visited several other clubs in Puglia during our holiday, and all of them were more welcoming, better managed, and offered better value for money. Lido La Castellana has a beautiful setting, but the poor management and high prices made it our worst in the region. Lido La Castellana was a highlight of our trip! From the moment we arrived the owner greeted us personally, the chef came to our table to meet us & to offer his personal recommendations and understand our likes/dislikes. The could not have been more attentive. The food was a TEN! They came table side & served us each individually - not an easy feat for a party of 14. The lobster risotto was out of this world. Travelling from New York City to south Italy, Otranto  I was eager to the renowned culinary scene, and Lido La Castellana was on top of my list.  The ambiance struck a perfect balance between sophistication and warmth, welcoming me the moment I walked through the doors.  Chef Franco Tornese , along with their team, were the evening's stars, crafting a menu that dazzled my taste buds and was deeply impressive. Each dish was a celebration of flavors, artfully presented and executed with precision.  The beverage pairings were equally impressive, enhancing the meal with a thoughtful selection of wines. Moreover, the attentive and friendly made the evening all the more enjoyable. Lastly, the pays a  great deal of attention to detail and is is very organized. Sublime, On our first trip to the south of Italy and I couldn’t imagine a better place to be by the sea, paradise! The food, the view and the people. We had a wonderful time. The food was fresh and deliciousr.. Everything about the place was top notch. It really felt like our own private club. Never felt crowded or loud, and amenities we clean and well maintained, and the was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend it. Esperienza pessima. Per proseguire, il prezzo (80€ un ombrellone e due sdraio) eccessivamente alto per il servizio che offre: lettini rovinati, materassi sporchi e con bruciature di sigaretta, ombrelloni arrugginiti. Siamo capitati alla spiaggia di destra, ovvero quella dove non c’è il ristorante.. pessima. Il mio fidanzato è capitato in un punto della spiaggia, in bilico, ed è caduto. In più la doccia era incommentabile e pericolosa, per salirci si rischia di cadere!!! Il cibo mediocre e il prezzo ovviamente alto. Tutto overpriced.
